About this deal

When using the AC327 baby movement monitor, I found the wireless Sensor Pad is useful, as is the fact you can recharge both the parent unit and nursery unit. I know you obviously haven't tried it properly yet with baby not arrived yet Which model did you go for?

Recently I spent the evening with a friend who has a sensor mat and the alarm went off one night and she went in to find her 6 month old not breathing. The camera can be tilted up, down and from side to side, and you can pan and zoom in when using the screen. When monitoring baby’s movements you should not use a cot mobile, or toy that plays music in/attached to the cot – these all emit a form of movement or vibration (albeit very small) on the surface of the mattress or the cot itself. The AC327 is more compact than previous Angelcare baby monitors and comes with colour video as well as sound, unlike the AC115 and AC127.

According to the angelcare ac1300 we have bought there needs to be a 30cm gap between the two beds so that the sensor doesn't pick up your movements. However, its height isn’t adjustable so the surface needs to be higher than the cot for the camera to point down into it.

It was very simple to use – you place it under the baby’s mattress and it will only sound if no movement is detected after 20 seconds. The low-profile nursery unit which can be placed on a wall or table top, with colour-coded room temperature display, watches over your baby while transmitting a crisp image both during the day or at night. I don't hear every little grunt and wheeze, and she doesn't get picked up unnecessarily when she's just settling herself. Our Movement monitor with wireless Sensor Pad is designed to be placed under the baby’s mattress where it senses subtle movements (like breathing) while the baby sleeps.MFM Parent Tester Luke also noted: “The initial set up is well guided through the instructions however some of the features of the product are not clear on how to use.

The video ones are all well and good but your not going to see them not breathing when your asleep so i'd be constantly watching looking for movement.

I'm not one of these over protective mums but a baby I used to baby sit for died of cot death (not on my watch) when I was a young teenager and I can remember how horrific it was and I couldn't help but worry for years afterwards what would have happened if I had been babysitting that night, as soon as I found out I was pregnant it was one of the first things I brought. If your baby’s bed has slats or springs, then you’ll need to invest in a flat board to place between the cot and mattress – this can be wood, plastic or even thick cardboard.

It has gone off a few times but this is when I have been too tired to remember to switch it off when I take him out of the cot. However, if you do end up fixing the camera to a nursery wall for example, it may be more troublesome to transport easily. Containing sensasure technology, the ACAM2 has 40% smaller wireless movement sensor pad that monitors baby's tiniest movements. Good baby breathing monitor but it could be better, cables could be longer and it would benefit from a two way walkie talkie so you can talk to your baby. MFM Parent Tester Luke also added: “The core features are great and do as they should, it handles video and sound between the camera and the parent unit brilliantly with no lag and in decent quality.
