About this deal

If you find a used Pioneer CDJ for sale that is not in the standard grey and slate finish, then it does not mean it is not a real unit. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

The CDJ-400 deck is a perfect partner for the DJM-400 mixer and together they provide the ultimate home party set-up.In addition to commercially available compact discs, a Pioneer CDJ 400 will be able to play discs that you have burned yourself.

FAT devices appear to work perfectly so you Mac guys out there could format external drives as FAT for the time being. I've thrown all manner of USB keys and various Flash cards at the CDJ-400 and they all worked just fine. Rather than using cheaper inferior plastics, each cover is manufactured from Polycarbonate - a very hardwearing plastic used in bulletproof glass. The CDJ400s are the perfect solution for mobile DJs who don't want to carry around heavy and incredibly expensive CDJ 1000/800/900 or the new mighty 2000s.The Roll effect in particular is very useful for instant remixing or simple slam mixing from track to track. If you are using Rekordbox software then you can use the CDJ400 to control the software, but it would need setting up.

The first was the birth of my son, followed a close second by the reluctant sale of my beloved pair of Technics SL-1200Mk2 turntables.

Also once a track is played, it sits patiently waiting at the beginning of the next track for you to hit play.

I would have preferred a rear-mounted USB port located close to the unit’s top edge for easy access. Its range can be toggled through ±6, ±10, ±16 and ±100% (the latter strangely referred to as WIDE) using the Tempo button, although if you’re using MP3s the WIDE option isn’t available. One function that is missing is a ‘brake’ effect that simulates the slow wind-down and start-up sound on a vinyl turntable, but you can always improvise using the Tempo slider in the WIDE mode.Be aware though the the platter is much smaller than that of the CDJ 800/1000, but if you require less music manipulation than that of club DJ's, then these are fantastic CDJ's. Not only that, but the whole drive feels like it has shock absorbers, making it less susceptible to jumping if it gets rough treatment.
