About this deal

She has the biggest shoes to fill on the band's seventh album Dark Waters, replacing longtime singer and face of the band Charlotte Wessels, who departed to pursue a solo career. Emerging as a brand new start and safe haven alike, Dark Waters, without any doubt, continues the legacy of this multi-million-streamed leading symphonic metal outfit and contains everything DELAIN is loved for and more. really good, but for me a "masterpiece" has multiple songwriting element, which this is all energy and catchiness throughout the album.

Beneath" is a single for a reason, an appealing song that is given additional variety by Ribaldini's backing vocals. DELAIN magnificently manages to never lose touch of their characteristic sound, making them a constant without ever standing still. After initially considering making it a project with rotating members, he decided to rebuild the lineup. A sonic rollercoaster ride of catchy tunes with explosive elements - ranging from pop to film score-inspired to blistering metal - merge perfectly with Diana’s fantastic voice, showcasing her incredible talent and musical sophistication. Whatever the circumstances behind Delain’s split, Martijn has done an exceptional job in reviving the project.

Rejoining the fold and bolstering DELAIN’s continuity are original guitarist Ronald Landa and original drummer Sander Zoer, while new members - terrific vocalist Diana Leah and bassist Ludovico Cioffi - continue to evolve their sound. Dutch symphonic metal pioneers DELAIN break into new realms with their eagerly awaited, brand new full-length, Dark Waters, out February 10, 2023 via Napalm Records. The future of the veteran Dutch symphonic metal band Delain was unclear after the lineup disbanded in early 2021, leaving only keyboardist Martijn Westerholt. The band's new lineup was fully announced on the release of the first single, "The Quest and the Curse", on 9 August 2022, [11] as well as announcing their new lead vocalist, Diana Leah. It does have some softer moments built within the songs though and that is what still pushes me to 5 stars even though masterpiece isn't the right word in my opinion. That brings the quality down slightly, but is still recommended for those who may be skeptical of a Wessels-less Delain. DELAIN’s renowned orchestral arrangements, highlighted by modern shadings, set new standards and manifest the five-piece on top of the scene.

The downside, perhaps, is that so much attention has been given to elevating this away from the norm that focus on the actual writing has not been as sharp as previously. That's also the case on "Moth to a Flame" that opens with acapella singing before the metal kicks in with some of the record's best riffs. After their shock dissolution, especially the loss of the very talented and face of the band Charlotte Wessels, it seemed like there would be no way back for Delain but here they are! Simultaneously on the same day of the single's release, the band announced the title of their upcoming seventh studio album, Dark Waters, with a release date of 10 February 2023.We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Hovering close to the original DELAIN sound, it combines synth themes and metal riffs to create an incredible fusion between pop and heavy soundscapes, topped off with a brain-spinning guitar solo. even a few songs that still remind me of older material, largely "the quest and the curse", and "invictus" (btw AWESOME to hear marko hietala doing his magic in it. With some former members in tow, Martijn has recreated the sound of before, new vocalist Diana sounds similar to Charlotte and the album is packed full of great tunes.
