For me the orange and pineapple dominates totally together with sweetness in both nose and mouth as well as during the short finish. The rum is matured in former bourbon casks for up to fifteen years and blended with all natural native Caribbean spices and pure Bajan water filtered through the coral limestone rocks of the island. Smooth from the first sip, you can taste the smokiness of the oak used in the maturation process and light fresh agave also comes through quickly.I received a bottle for my birthday and honestly it didn’t taste like I was expecting at all, a very beautifully flavoured well rounded drink that sipped neat in front of my log burner was heavenly. On the palate the pineapple and kola nuts continue but slowly make way for ginger, hints of vanilla, cloves and nutmeg.
