About this deal

ISO, in the context of photography, refers to the sensitivity of the camera’s image sensor to light.

To understand why, you must learn how different sensor sizes influence exposure and other properties. And at a time when even the best emulsions needed several minutes for a successful exposure, promising the ‘most sensitive’ numbers were a fast way to increase sales. Similarly, if you’re using a fast shutter speed to capture action, it’s essentially the same as taking pictures in a dark environment (since you strictly limit the amount of time your camera sensor is able to capture light).

IWhile common opinion** is that the base ISO for current Pentax dSLRs is 200, there are still advantages (as noted above) to using lower values for some cases. The kit comes with 2 different lengths of tubes, offering varying levels of height as well as spacers to allow you to tilt the stands up to 6.

For best results, we recommend positioning the stands with the IsoAcoustics logo facing forward, in the same direction as the drivers. The ISO-200’s decoupling process enables monitor speakers to float independently to the underlying support surface below, reducing energy transfer from nearby objects and cleaning up the bass response for a fully informed mixing and playback experience. Bass becomes tighter, overall imaging is enhanced and your speakers are enabled to perform to their full potential. This is why cameras designed for astrophotography have cooling devices built in to lower the temperature of the sensor therefore reducing the thermal noise enabling higher ISO settings to be used with less noise. When I get back situated again, I’ll be testing most of the 200 speed black and whites to see if there’s something I can use there! This next generation of speaker stands effectively eliminates energy transfer into the supporting surfaces. The stand can be assembled and reconfigured repeatedly to establish the ideal position off the supporting surface and focused towards the listener.

I’m not a technical expert on this matter but in my understanding ISO is applied to the live image that the camera sees in the moment. I once read an article that ISO 200 was the lowest sensitivity available in film and therefore ISO 100LOLz. I can shoot at slightly faster shutter speeds to control camera shake — or, more importantly to me, I can use slightly narrower apertures to get more depth of field. It is commonly referred to as the film’s ISO rating, with the most common film speeds being ISO 400, ISO 200 and ISO 100.If you want to tilt up, insert either two of the short or two of the long inserts into the front tubes. Also, you risk building a bad habit of forgetting correct exposure, which is detrimental to your photography in the long run. As a second example - you may enjoy the grain that you get in your photos when you use film at speeds above 800. This is why you would often see professional film photographers - particularly in situations with changing light like sports or weddings - carry multiple cameras.
