I would find it very hard to give up the comfort and accuracy of the Expert for another finger-operated trackball. I’ve been using a Logitech Cordless Optical TrackMan for as long as they’ve been out and never had problems with the signal (except when batteries are low) and that’s with several monitors, powered speakers, wireless computer keyboard, lots of wiring and audio gear surrounding my chair.The free downloadable TrackballWorks software gives you the ability to assign a wide variety of program functions to each of the 4 buttons, as well as adjusting cursor and scrolling speeds. They offer economy of movement—all the work falls to a few fingers that, while they move a lot, never have to stretch. Around the ball is a textured scroll ring that looks a bit like the ring around an old kitchen timer.
