About this deal

Masottino Prosecco Brut is straw yellow with light green reflections with fine and persistent bubbles in your glass. The vineyard is at home Masottina in Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOC famous and is based on the unique micro-climate grapes of the highest quality. The prosecco's I have tried before have been pretty non-descript, quaffable wines to be drunk with or without food.

This exquisite collection of terroirs undergoes secondary fermentation and maturation over the course of a month, followed by another month of aging. The finish of this sparkling wine from the Veneto wine-growing region, or more precisely from Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, impresses with its long finish. The sparkling wine has a fresh nose, releasing hints of lemon, grapefruit as well as green apple and pear. Golden delicious apples, pink grapefruit and limes are clearly distinguished on the nose; to these are added the more delicate hints of pears and plums, together with wisteria flowers. Masottina is the historic brand of the Dal Bianco family, a reality born and grown in the hills of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.On the palate it's full of fine bubbles with a sherbet and pear drop-like taste, nicely balanced by racy acidity.

The driver will input your year of birth into their device and may then require an ID check to complete the age verification process. The Masottina vineyard is very well known for producing great wines and this is, in essence, their entry-level prosecco. It's got a rather floral nose with white flowers, fruit aromas of lemon and apples, and a little bit of honey. Prosecco grape is distinguished by its aromatics of lemon and green apples, and its subtle flavours of white peaches, freshly picked flowers and notes of yeastiness.Importantly it all but rendered extinct the traditional ‘colfondo’ style frizzante (less gas, more flavour) that came from the wine’s second ferment taking place in bottle, having had grape must (not sugar) added. Prosecco is also the name of the grape that forms the basis of the eponymous sparkling wine and many of the best examples contain 100% Prosecco, although Verdiso, Perera and Bianchetta grape varieties which are considered to be of lesser stature, can be used up to a maximum of 15% .
