If you start it uo from cold and leave it idling, does the fan stay off for a good while, until the gauge is reading normal temperature, before coming on? Could it be that a Diesel Xtrail`s Engine is `louder` than a Petrol Engine ? - Loud enough to stop You hearing the Radiator Fan running when You are inside the Car - ?

Speaking of moving air, the stat you want to keep your eyes out for is “CFM,” which stands for “cubic feet per minute.” The higher the number, the more air the fan can move, the better. That said, fans with the highest CFM also tend to be loudest. The Phanteks T30-120 features a unique 30mm fan frame that results in a 25% larger fan blade. Combined with the LCP material, 3-phase motor, magnetic levitated DUAL VAPO bearing and three PWM fan profiles, the T30-120 fan brings the best in silence, the best airflow performance and the best in high pressure for the PC market.thats basically saying a normal rad beats a slim rad...well ya as they are using more material/space.

I responded to Johnrimm`s comment immediately because I know that whenever I am driving my Xtrail I hear the Radiator Fan running a few times when I am not moving forward. Regarding my question to John about whether it is possible that His Xtrail`s Diesel Engine was louder than the Petrol Engine and that was possibly why He has not heard a Fan running: When I turn on the computer, it shows the IBM logo then suddenly says "fan error" on the top left before shutting itself off. I cannot enter the BIOS configuration because it shuts off my computer before I could. This happens regardless if I am running on battery power or A/C power. I do not hear the fan spin up, but I am not sure since I bought this thing for my dad.For silence enthusiasts too lazy to set their own PWM curves, there’s another mode: Hybrid. This one limits the maximum rotational speed to just 1200 RPM, and at PWM signals below 50%, completely shuts the fan off. On this one, we saw that the M25s managed to keep a relatively good noise-to-performance ratio, comparable to the Silent Wings 4 HS, but failed to match the one set by the Noctua NF-A14.

A new motor with a Fluid Dynamic Bearing will significantly reduce noise, especially during low RPM operation. Operational friction is kept at very low levels even after years of service, unlike the traditional ball-bearing fans, which get noisier with time. Well that's what I am not sure about, why would they release two different sets if i can just make the regular was spin in reverse. so in reality, they created a new 120mm form factor. the added 5mm is non-trivial, especially since a lot of people use rad fans in push-pull, which would add 10mm total. Though I agree that there are many applications where the extra height doesn't matter... Now I'm just waiting for someone to make a monster 50mm version :devilish: Additionally, two fans can use the included 500mm long extensions to connect the complete chain(s) to the Motherboard.Obviously when I was doing that the Radiator Fan was coming On and Off quite frequently after the Engine heated up because the vehicle was not moving through the Air - but the Fan did not come On until the Temperature Gauge was showing about Mid Range.

Because I was writing yesterday just from remembering hearing the Fan quite frequently while I am driving my Xtrail it did not occur to Me about the different `pitch` of the Fan noise - and that this was the ONLY reason why I could hear the Fan. These QL120 fans feature a whopping 34 RGB LEDs per fan, and they're designed with semi-transparent fan blades and four lighting zones. The light shines on both sides of the fan, so both intake and exhaust mountings will get the RGB love. The three-fan kit includes the Lighting Node Core controller you need, which simply requires a USB 2.0 and SATA connection, keeping your PC's wiring simple inside.

Sounds like normal behaviour for a car with aircon, but if the aircon is OFF, then I'm a bit perplexed. Hello, I just finished partially tearing down my X201 to remove the motherboard and clean the fan as well as replace the thermal paste. Once... 0 Replies 5176 Views Last post by jools1976
