My oldest is already getting Gamemaster ambitions and I feel better handing something off to him that’s a bit more solid. They had a great time collaborating and learning about spells and taking advantage of enemies grouped together closely. These cats are compatible with all fantasy roleplaying games and can be used as player characters, companions, or familiars. On the one hand, they’re pretty detailed, with some downright brilliant artistic touches in Russ Charles’ sculpts – and being fixed to the bases means that, right out of the box, they’re really solid, cool little models that you can whack right down on the table and start playing. Lovely, friendly and knowledgable staff, beautiful setting and most importantly, happy and well looked after animals! I enjoyed the characters and scenarios enough that I can’t wait to check out the more advanced stuff and my oldest is trying to plot his own adventures already, so we may soon have another aspiring GM in the house. For my part, I was pleasantly surprised by the neat setup presented in its seven small pages of rules. From a Newfoundland monk to an Australian Shepherd druid, each pup has been lovingly designed to represent a classic fantasy class. The interior does a good job of giving quick information snapshots and I love the sturdiness of the screen.
