About this deal
Sometimes we screw them back into the axle adapters on the bike, but we don’t like having them on the bike all the time just in case they come loose or get damaged. This happened to me when I was carrying my son in his bike seat to the emergency room for a head wound! We did Dalby upper green a few times with it and it mean’t the kids could do a fair bit of riding and get towed when they got lazy tired.
Another defect is in the strap that holds the coupling folded away when you are not towing a child's bike. However, give yourself a couple of hours to ensure everything is spot on and you will reap the rewards because the end result is extremely satisfying. The main challenge here isn’t the actual execution, but rather to figure out if you need a specialized adapter other than the quick-release axle adapter that comes with the FollowMe itself, ideally well in advance. This gives him a chance to ride solo on safer sections of the route, but also to use his bike at our destinations – this was very important to us: previously his balance bike often travelled with us strapped to the parcel rack. With the Follow Me Tandem Coupling Complete Set, you have the possibility of both safely towing your child through road traffic, or letting it cycle individually away from dangerous traffic. That is, if the front wheel is secured to the front forks with a quick release skewer or allen key bolts. FollowMe is a clever tandem hitch that makes family cycling a safe and fun experience in an instant.
It is also the only bicycle tandem hitch that can be used simultaneously with a rear child seat or a rear support rack!
Two days later, a new bolt arrived in the post, free of charge, and my FollowMe Tandem was back in action. With that in mind, I would like, once more, to put emphasis on my suggestion to use Locktite with every screw you touch in the process of installing the FollowMe, especially with the kid’s bike front axle extensions. In the beginning, you may want to instruct your kid not to pedal but sit there relatively still so that you can get used to what it feels like.
