She didn't get to follow her dream of becoming an author but she did everything for Jonathan just so he could follow his dream. These two main characters have such an amazing chemistry and you can tell they’re just destined to be with each other. Despite his many weaknesses, Jonathan is determined to win back the what-could-have-beens in his life. He wanted to be an active part of Maddie’s and Kennedy’s life and he was so sorry for everything he did. I also loved the fact that this story was a "slow burn", where the hero wasn't just forgiven without some hardcore groveling. M. Darhower, but one book is all it took to make me desperate to read every single word this author has ever written, because everything about this story was sheer perfection.Through constant flashbacks to their shared past, we become invested in their love story, but we also get to see firsthand how much Jonathan’s mistakes have cost them both, how much Kennedy has sacrificed in the course of their relationship, and what it took to eventually make her walk away from it all.

The contrast she’s construed in terms of her upbringing, traits and surroundings with Jonathan’s is nothing less than perfectly imperfect. We all know those books where the girl falls for the boy and they have those sweet moments and slowly but gently fall in love. I felt so connected to the characters and whatever they were going through was realistic and original. and i’m not gonna lie here, some of the things he did really upset me and there were times i wanted to punch him in the face but i can understand why he acted the way he did.Then, as their relationship begins to mend in present-day, it is contrasted with the "past" demise of their relationship that led them to where they were at the very beginning of the book. Maddie is a fan of Breezeo but she didn't knew that his father is the one who plays the role of her favourite superhero. When an accident forces him to take a small break from acting, his heart leads him to the very place he’s worked his whole life to escape, and into the lives of the two people who will always be his only home. It ruined me in the best possible way, and I cannot recommend it highly enough—every devastatingly perfect second of it.
