What an amazing scent, it was not love at first sniff but after a couple of wears this has become one of my top 5 summer scents and one of my favorite dumb reach type fragrances. Someone wrote that this is like a hug from your best friend, and that is a really good way of describing it.

LOL, I suppose that I went a little overboard, but the new formulation, or at least this particular bottle is weaker.

Sometime in 2021 I posted a review on this with my 2 to 3 year experience with it, something what was essentially my first 'real' fragrance as a freshman student. I mean, the notes are there, it's just that the whole scent is starting to feel soapy, indefinite and synthetic to some extent. Fresh, earthy, small hint of dirtiness like dry soil forest ground on hot day, hint of forestriness. a former co-worker who was the most self-absorbed, pretentious prick I've ever known wore this as his signature; that association killed this for me.

This has quickly become my “dumb reach” scent and I’ve used nearly half of a 100ml bottle after only a few months.Eau d'lssey pour Homme by Issey Miyake is a timeless, masculine scent that deserves a place in your scent collection! It may seem outdated or synthetic to some people but for me this scent brings me joy and a warm feeling. Has a classy dry down that gives off a honey/woods vibe and is the only fragrance in my collection that genuinely lasts 12 hours or more on a few sprays (my latest 2016 bottle still performs great, id like to hope that it hasnt been reformulated since then). A couple years back when I really dove into the fragrance collecting hobby, and not intending to do so, I bought a 200ml with a 2019 batch code.
