About this deal
For us, one of the best aspects of a good single malt whisky is its ability to bring people together.
Our third member's exclusive whisky is the deliciously light, bright and fragrant Tobermory 10 year whisky. In 1797 John Sinclair, an innovative kelp merchant, applied for a lease of land known as Ledaig – pronounced ‘letch-ick’ – which means ‘safe haven’.Sitting in the centre of the vibrant island community, from which we take our name, we are a thriving, expressive and unique distiller, true to our idyllic Hebridean home. Rich, fruity sherried smokiness, lovely balance of phenols, seaweed and light creosote, dried chilli flakes, spicy black pepper with hints of sweet oakiness. Our bottles come in two sizes: 700ml, which is our standard for our main releases; and for some of our expressions, 100ml minis. It lingers off into some chocolate covered liqueur sweets, a hint of liquorice and a dry mouthfeel at the end. A perfect balance of sweet and floral aromas with warming sea salt and smoke, this makes a perfect festive gift or treat for yourself!
It has all the subtle elements of an Islay whisky with the smoke and brine you come to expect, but also a complexity that makes it so well balanced with that hint of lemon.Early the following year, following several further months of unusually dry weather, there was another temporary halt to production.
