Two years ago we spent 10 days in Italy (Naples, Livorno, Florence, Manarola and Rome) and 4 nights in Athens.
Italy is an art lover's paradise, and it's no wonder foreigners can't resist the allure of its rich artistic heritage. She will be really happy to see that you are willing to learn to cook and take her part of chores from time to time. Due to the politics at the time, I ended up dropping Barcelona, but there is a lot of Modernista architecture in the city (the Spanish version of Art Nouveau - Gaudi and his counterparts). In the mountains of the Italian Dolomites, you can sit in an outdoor whirlpool bath at QC Terme near Bolzano and take in the amazing scenery while you leisurely decide which of the 40+ other water treatments to try next. I have been extremely lucky to spend a month driving around Sicily and finding the unspoiled beaches around the island, to go wine tasting in Tuscany and to drive around exploring Umbria and its wonderfully romantic medieval villages.There are so many reasons to love Italy: its food, wines, language, architecture, design, people, history, landscapes, beaches… the list is endless.
Since I was a small child, I’ve loved the ancient world, from the stories and myths to the art and languages. It is well known that Italians are passionate, proud, temperamental, jealous, possessive, colorful, spontaneous, charming, sensual, irresistible, impatient, sensitive, macho, noisy, warm-hearted, excellent cooks, stylish, bon viveurs and football fanatics.A sublime marriage of two amazing food products from Modena: parmigiano-reggiano cheese and Balsamico di Modena. Italy is a country that effortlessly weaves together vibrant cities and charming villages, each with its own unique character and beauty. She focuses on some of the most seductive aspects of Italian culture: its history, food and wine, art, music, cinema, cars and fashion and style. Others are still unknown as the Royal Residences and Palaces in Turin, the capital city of Piedmont, which was the first capital of unified Italy in 1861, way before Rome or Florence.
This first became apparent to me six years ago when I almost entered into an illicit tryst with a man who was meant to get married in a month’s time… not that that seemed to matter to him though. Of course, I had to go home after 2 months of dating this guy and I was convinced we would break it off. The spa is fed by a natural, sulphuric spring that’s been famous for its reputed health benefits since 1493. Venice, with its enchanting canals and palaces, is not only a romantic destination but also a haven for art lovers.The anticipation of foods grown only at certain times of year is something to be relished and then savored, if only for the short time. George Clooney, Versace, Madonna, James Bond bought villas here, and celebrities from all over the world spend their vacations here.
Can I find love outside of Italy or since I'm head over heels for the country will any other destination just pale in comparison?
