Walden’s description of the young woman meditating on the mountain as lit torches fall sounds very similar to the traditional definition: “Maturity and calm. Unauthorized use and/or duplication of this material without express and written permission from this site’s owner is strictly prohibited. The imaginative Cosmic Slumber Tarot deck speaks to the subconscious mind, featuring colorful, hand-painted images that are meant to evoke answers and insights from within. Each suit in the Minors has its own general color scheme: Torches (Wands) are full of indigos and purples, Cups have blues and yellows, Swords are pink, red, and orange, and Pentacles have various shades of green and yellow. As I was looking through the cards, soaking up this incredibly feminine energy and really loving every minute of it, I decided that the guidebook was probably going to disappoint me.

Personally, I would have liked to see more, but even a little bit of representation is above the current industry standard.Visibly brown bodies are interspersed here and there and primarily in the pentacles and wands suit, at least from what I noted. I still found the references here good enough for a novice to do a reading with the deck and look up the card meanings here as needed.

WordPress has recently changed its user interface and I can’t figure out how to resize pictures, so my apologies if the photos on this post are messed up.Some decks, and an example that comes to mind is the Modern Spellcasters Tarot (deck review here), where the suit of Swords is Fire while the suit of Wands is Air. I love the otherworldliness of every image here, this lifted sensation of intergalactic astral travel. One feature in the packaging design that could have been done better is the spacer you see in the above photograph. Given that this deck is Rider Waite based, I find this really easy to understand and to use – the imagery is busy yet very clear offering numerous meanings and concepts within readings. Looking through these images, there’s a feeling of divine play, or perhaps of dreaming—reminiscent of the deck’s title.

For the most part the cards are interpretations are RWS based but beautifilly re-imagined by Tillie.The spacing between the words is sometimes a little too small or even non-existent at times making 2 words look like one word. The print quality is excellent – the colours are vivid and clear, there are no misprints, no colour bleeds, no blurring.
