I feel like anyone could have told me this story about their own lives, which is great as it makes it relatable, but at times I wanted to shake the lead as it felt like her reasoning for leaving home didn’t match up to what it led her to.There is a lot of family drama and I genuinely felt so sorry for the heroine, cause I can't imagine not having the support my parents give me and the fact that she didn't have that, its no wonder she went through so much. She was born and raised in upstate New York where she still resides with her four-legged feline sidekick Oliver “Ollie” Queen. His love for football wasn't his entire personality either -- he was just such an inherently good person, and I just adored him. Now take all those dynamics and wrap them up into a one-of-a-kind story that incorporates sports, family issues, self-harm and fated love and you’ve got the makings of one of my top reads this year already with Dare You To Hate Me.

I am an emotional mess at the end of this book so if you want something easy and funny this is not the right choice.childhood friends (to enemies ish) to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes and this was done absolutely perfectly. Towards the end of the book I think I wanted more from a certain family situation ivy had, but it was a well written story and good secondary characters. years and a lot of bad decisions and mistakes later, including an attempted suicide, Ivy meets Ayden again at Linden University. And all the other guys who have kissed me with a purpose, touched me with a destination, and taken me to bed with a plan have never done so with as much passion as Aiden Griffith is right now. It sucked me in from the very beginning and not one moment did I find myself not completely captivated by Ivy and Aiden’s story.This book deals with extremely sensitive topics such as self harm, and it deals with them extremely well in my opinion. Dare You To Hate Me is a Beautiful Childhood Friends to Lovers, Sports Romance about Friendship, Loyalty and facing one's past. There's something sadder about the way Ivy ridicule herself being a whore, brushing everything she went through like nothing, and still, be as strong, selfless, and a dreamer as she was. And to some extent I understood why she was like that, but it got annoying at some parts and I just did not like her that much. So the night I snuck out of his bedroom window after hugging him goodbye, I’d accepted I’d probably never see him again.
