About this deal

Though not leak-proof, this dishwasher-safe, vacuum-insulated mug is pretty great at preventing spills while also keeping your morning coffee easily accessible—even while you keep your eyes on the road. So there’s no need to actually give up your daily coffee—just bring a travel cup that will help reduce the amount of single-use plastic disposed of each day, but can be chic, too. But even after unlocking the sip lid, you still have to push pretty hard on the autoseal button on the side of the lid to open it enough to get a good swig.

When it came time for the official testing, we filled all of the mugs with piping hot water and let them sit on our desks for five hours. It’s a clever concept, but you’ll need to be mindful that the cup’s body is made from flexible silicone, because we found that it can leak when it’s full and accidentally squeezed. Seemingly the reusable coffee cup that can do no wrong, Ocean Bottle’s Brew Flask is a completely leak-proof, double- wall vacuum insulated, 360 degree lid travel mug. The annoyance of hand washing it every morning is offset by the righteous virtue I feel as I wait in line to pay among all the single-use plastic holdouts.

It’s light and just the right size – large enough for a long coffee; small enough to fit in your car’s cup holder. The classic stainless steel design is scratch resistant and apparently immune to dents - I’ve thrown it around enough to know. While the interior and lip are glass—no metallic off-tastes here—the exterior shell below the rubber grip is plastic. It’s almost the perfect travel mug, except when when tipped upside down: liquid does seep out, so it can’t be thrown carelessly in a bag (which is really all I want in a reusable coffee cup).

The stainless steel rim makes it nicer to sip from than competitors' mugs, and it comes with Hydro Flask's usual drip-proof lid and bomber-tough powder coating that is nearly impossible to scratch. This is the reusable coffee cup I turn to for a coffee that will stay warm until I get into the office. You’ll want a lightweight, leakproof, insulating container to carry it in safely, and we think this cup is among the best for the job. However there are five popular materials used to make travel mugs, which also includes ceramic, glass, hard plastic and bamboo. By repurposing these cups, you’re not only reducing single-use waste but also giving them a new life in sustainable circulation! There are glass, stainless steel and silicone versions, those that look like takeaway coffee cups and others that more closely resemble a bottle.
