About this deal

The Seven-Year-Old Wonder Book tells stories about Sylvia and her life and experience through her sixth year of life. Ride Pegasus, open Pandora' Box, kill Medea with her head of many snakes, join Hercules as he flexes his muscles and King Midas as he turn his daughter into gold. More than anything I’ve seen recently this book is a tactile experience, and yet another volume(that designation which Borges always used to emphasise) which makes a nonsense of the idea of screens as an adequate replacement for all books.

First edition of Hathorne's re-telling of ancient myths, first state with "lifed" (for "lifted") at page 21, line 3; there are various colours of cloth without priority. Knopf (now part of Penguin Random House), the novel was a top seller for the firm when the film was released in 2017, when it sold 5 million copies in combined book and ebook units in the United States. Also, an additional eight full-page duo-chromatic illustrations, many resembling a Japanese influence, with captions greatly enchance this volume. If you are sharing this book aloud, expect conversations about the questions, some of which could lead to great discussions about fascinating topics. The stories relate to festivals throughout the year and, towards the end of the book, we are told about Sylvia's seventh birthday.

These are timeless tales - including The Gorgon s Head, The Golden Touch, and The Miraculous Pitcher - all imaginatively illustrated by the Master Rackham.

This marvelous book will successfully sustain and stimulate your child’s natural sense of curiosity and wonder about this mysterious world we live in. A funny, frank, astonishingly moving debut - and a true global phenomenon - to read in one sitting, pass on to others, and remember long after the final page. His best-known works also include the illustrations for Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm. Rackham's 51 colour pieces for the early American tale Rip Van Winkle became a turning point in the production of books since ? and I wonder if cars and trucks speak the same language remind us of a child’s unique point of view.

Book is very good in original red cloth with gold lettering on spine and gold illustration on cover. Lily has a stammer and when a video of her practising a school presentation is posted online, she feels humiliated. The mixed media illustrations have a softer tone and color palate and they often have a blurry, dream-like appearance adding to the “wonderfulness” of the world.Complete with the very good dustwrapper which is nicked with short closed tears at the spine tips and darkened to the spine and panel edges. I was severely disappointed that at no point did the mother say, "Let's go read about this and find out.

It would be fun to generate a list of questions with kids and then illustrate them as an art exercise. The English gentleman who narrated the intro and first story was excellent, reading with enough feeling to capture a juvenile audience, yet not making an adult feel ridiculous for listening, but Ms. Not my personal taste in text, though - a bit too abstract - but I can see others using it or enjoying it. She learns to talk about how it feels to not know something, and she learns that it’s okay to say “I don’t know.holds, and the result is a quite delightful presentation book, perhaps too good for the tender mercies of the nursery". Beautifully illustrated and carefully adapted, the series introduces language learners around the world to the bestselling authors and most compelling content from Penguin Random House.
