About this deal

Whilst I commend huge portions of the book I think there should be recognition that everyone has their own journey with sobriety and that not everyone follows the same path. As well as the NHS, there are charities and private drug and alcohol treatment organisations that can help you.

I had heard many glowing reviews about the power of the book and the compelling nature of Jason Vale's arguments and I was curious to read it. I'm bored of not being able to remember what I saw on tv the previous night, making a fool of myself on the phone or in front of my wife and general self loathing. For it told me the answer to all my problems, the key to feeling good, lay at the bottom of the glass but, in truth, it was inside myself the whole time. There are countless testimonials to the efficacy of Jason's arguments in `Kick the Drink - Easily' however I came at the book from a slightly different angle - that of having already `kicked the drink' some time ago. Instead of freeing yourself from the prison of alcohol addiction only to incarcerate yourself in the prison of `recovery', Jason argues the third option is to free yourself from your desire to drink, and from the belief that by abstaining from alcohol you are missing out.

He also used to smoke 2 – 3 packets of cigarettes a day and drank very heavily (as many as 14 pints of lager a day). If you're dependent on heroin or another opioid, you may be offered a substitute drugs, such as methadone or buprenorphine. His books include 'The 7lbs in 7 Days Superjuice Diet', 'Slim for Life', 'Turbo Charge Your Life in 14 Days' and 'Juice Yourself Slim'.However, he doesn't advocate 'cutting down' his intention is really to help people quit as he believes if you drink any amount of alcohol you are not in control of it.

Now I feel it’s never been clearer to me how alcohol works and I’m looking forward to putting my knowledge and realisation into practice. Jason Vale, aka the ‘Juice Master’, is the best-selling author of sixteen books on healthy eating, addiction, juicing and blending. Vale's book shows condescension towards the main stream methods of the treatment of alcohol dependency. To give some perspective, I was drinking five nights out of seven with at least a couple of those nights being a bit more than a bottle of wine (so a bottle and a gin and tonic or a pint of lager or a whiskey at the end of the evening). I think there is a small amount required because you have to choose to direct your mind and think in a particular way.Jason Vale’s perspective on alcohol and quitting are consistent with others, but his style, illustrations, and tone are so entertaining and no nonsense. But I could see a lot of people, whom he would consider to be conditioned by society's views on drink, to have a much harder time with what he says in this book. I read Jason Vale’s Kick the Drink, Easily and, upon finishing it, I said, with a smile on my face, I’m never drinking again and I didn’t for six years. Talking therapies, such as CBT, help you to see how your thoughts and feelings affect your behaviour. And if it doesn't work for you, you'll have spent a fiver on the book but saved at least that with a few days off the booze.

One thing I would say - I read this in a day and I think that the intensity of the message really helped. Jason is the author of numerous bestselling books which together have sold over half a million copies in the UK alone. This is the root of the success and appeal - because the result is permanent (and not an ongoing struggle of willpower) and, as the title suggests, because it is easy.
