Some things are easy to spot, like tall buildings or fluffy clouds, but some, like ants and other bugs, are so teeny tiny that you have to look very closely or even use a magnifying glass. Take this award-winning book with you on any ramble, wherever you live, with suggestions from Ranger Hamza for things to look out for. On the way they find a ten-mile-long snake, make friends with a woodlouse, listen to the wind blowing through willow trees and even stomp like giants!The ten books offer a wide range of styles, themes and formats, to support your students in reading for enjoyment, discussing books and developing a long-term love of reading. I applaud this book for encouraging children to go outside and go on a walk and to really look around at what they see.

But while none of these are new to me (even as a kid I looked all around me and dashed left and right to see everything, haha, hello ADHD), I am sure that many kids could use a reminder that a walk is not just walking, but also looking, imagining, having fun, collecting, and more. In this picture book we have a black man who is taking three children on a walk, the children are black, brown, and white skinned.I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Ivy Kids) or author (Ranger Hamza) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. Literacy, oral expression, and social skills will be enhanced, all through fun and adventurous walking with friends and family.
