About this deal

Without any spoilers, this is a marriage of convenience story but also a story of growth and healing with fantasy elements since this takes place during the Meiji/Taisho era period.

It’s a bit ironic since although the two have quickly realized how important they are to each other, they’re not nearly as quick on the uptake that their feelings are romantic.Well, another longer arc besides Miyo working to establish herself as Kiyoka’s wife in all aspects, including realizing how she feels about her fiancé. Yurie suggests something handmade and Miyo choose a kumihimo since Kiyoka always ties his hair with one. Afterwards, Kiyoka receives information from Iwashimizu about a woman named "Sumi Tsuruki", discovering that she had the same surname as Arata's.

she wants things to work out for Miyo and Kiyoka and is all too happy to do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. This site uses cookies to deliver our services, improve performance, for analytics, and (if not signed in) for advertising. While disgusted by the blatant evidence of their abuse towards Miyo, Kiyoka also learns of her lack of spiritual powers and relation to the Usuba family, who has an ability to manipulate people's minds. There’s plenty of depth here even besides working through Miyo and Kiyoka’s relationship and readers will be eager to find out what happens next. Hazuki proves to be a cheerful addition that helps elevate some of the gloom surrounding this volume.

When she's not watching anime, reading manga or reviewing, Demelza can generally be found exploring some kind of fantasy world and chasing her dreams of being a hero. Horribly abused by her family, Miyo's self-esteem is in the negative numbers when she's told she'll be married off to the cold Kiyoka Kogou with the assumption that he'll reject her and she'll die on the streets. I hadn't expected the fantasy/ghost/demon part of the novel, but I have no complaints, everyone loves a sweet, shy, rich, but hella powerful male lead that can protect the strong female lead. Miyo is living the worst sort of Cinderella life in the late Meiji/early Taisho era of an alternate Japan. While this volume revolves around Miyo’s mental health and well-being, it also begins to dig further into the supernatural side of the series that we only briefly explored in Volume 1.

The tutor Kiyoka enlists is his sister Hazuki, who is delighted by the fact that Kiyoka is now engaged to such a lovely woman. Kaya is frustrated to overhear them still discussing Miyo, especially as she suspects Kouji's feelings for Miyo.
