About this deal

Honestly? I don’t see the point of looking for major flaws in a budget guitar available at this price level. Maybe it’s not a Fender, but come on – think about how affordable this gear actually is. Because the vintage-style saddles don’t have grooves for the strings to sit on, they’re free to move around the saddle. You will notice a bit of a buzz on the higher notes, which you won’t be able to shake off if you are pretty good with your electric guitars. It is very impressive how much quality and versatility this guitar offers. The gig bag is not heavily padded but it seems strong and comfortable to carry around with nicely padded handles and shoulder straps.

But these are all very small details that can easily be fixed. There are some reports with different setups and quality control issues on the internet, but in my case, there was not much to complain about besides the slightly high setup. So, for the price, you are almost getting everything started. It does come with a protective film that is pretty tough to get rid of with the knobs on. But if you pop them out, the film will come off easily. It’s a solid 4 out of 5 for me, but anyone starting can benefit from the DST-152. It does come with a carrying bag so you can travel with it if you want. If I had to choose one thing that I would change in that guitar, it would probably be factory strings. I love playing on Elixirs and I’m just used to them. But it doesn’t mean that the strings in DST-152 are bad. They’re fine! I’ll update this review in the future if there are any issues that come up. Overall Impression of the Donner DST-200

Customer reviews

Here are some things you can do to get the most out of the Donner DST-200 or any similar budget guitar. As I already mentioned, this guitar had a really low action out of the box. After making it a bit higher to get rid of the fret buzz, handling this guitar and accessing all corners of the fretboard was really easy and smooth. Strings feel like the ones from the short-scale guitar(this donner has the regular scale of 25.5”) because they were so easy to fret and bend.

But are Donner guitars like this? Or are they just cheap Chinese-made axes that don’t deserve any attention from us? Well, you’re about to discover the truth. The amplifier was surprisingly good. Due to its small and lightweight construction, I thought It would be useless. I was wrong. The cleans are nice and bright. The distortion is adequate for a beginner. I love the fact that it has rechargeable battery power which makes it very portable. Overall, the Donner DST-200 is a good quality option for beginners or intermediate guitarists wanting a Stratocaster-style guitar on a tight budget. If you’re a beginner or thinking about learning guitar on a budget, the Donner DST-200 gives you a good quality guitar at the lowest price I would consider. Mirroring what you’d find on similarly priced models from Squier, it came with a solid poplar body, which we found to be light weight, and a close match to the shape and ergonomics of a Stratocaster. When it comes to budget Strat-style guitars, the first brand to come to mind is probably Squier. The side-branch of Fender is specialized in designing and creating cost-effective versions of Fender guitars which often feature great quality.

Tuners and all other important hardware like the bridge seem to be working well which is the most important thing. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. Plastic nuts aren’t ideal for tone or durability, but if you take care of your guitar and are careful when restringing it, you shouldn’t have any issues such as wearing down the string slots. I’m usually very cautious when it comes to budget guitars, because I’m aware that they’re not always the best, but come on! This guitar offers an awesome tone at a VERY low price. Can it compete with a high quality Fender? Probably not. But for that amount of money? That’s a solid deal. Build QualityDonner DST-200 is an amazing beginner guitar for music enthusiasts who want to step into the journey of learning how to play guitar. Its high versatility, great sonic performance, and comfort in the hand make it an ideal guitar to start learning. Before anything, it comes with all you need to start playing, as it features a great accessory bundle. First-time players get a plug-and-play style set, avoiding any extra expense and struggle to complete the set. Now for the downsides, as soon as you start playing with the strings, you will notice that something is off. Some of its frets are not properly leveled, and there are numerous dead spots on the high string. Considering the fact that it’s a very cheap piece of gear, I’m convinced that it’s one of the best products of this type that you can find on the market. Yeah, I know that there are a lot of good cheap guitars out there. But in this case, it’s not only about the axe – it’s also about the extra stuff.

As you can see on the photos, the guitar also comes with a small 5-Watt amp. It’s a cool piece of gear, although obviously – it will never sound as good as a high quality tube combo. If you’re a bit more advanced player, you will probably consider replacing these tuners with a better set, but if you’re just starting out, it won’t make any difference to you. Tuning stability is an essential factor to consider when choosing a guitar kit. Both the DST-100 and DST-152 offer reliable tuning stability. They are equipped with vintage-style tuning machines that ensure accurate and stable tuning. The vintage-style tuning machines not only provide a classic look but also contribute to the overall stability of the guitars. Conclusion: The DST-200 I reviewed has a nice tight fit on both sides. This should be expected with any guitar made today as CNC manufacturing has significantly improved the quality of budget and mid-level guitars (many high-end guitars are still handmade).

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

I also have to mention that the fingerboard of that Strat is also really nice – it’s made of Indian Laurel. And I’m surprised that it wasn’t that dry! Usually fretboards in budget guitars are super dry and they are screaming for some lemon oil, but in this case, that’s not a problem at all. Hardware
