Peter Deunov (1864-1944) was born in the village of Nikolaevka to the first Bulgarian Orthodox priest ever to replace Old Church Slavonic with Bulgarian in the Divine Liturgy. But far beyond scaling mountains and preaching the joys of good health, Deunov advocated world peace. Unfortunately, that too was seen as contentious by some. During one of his lectures in 1917, he spoke out against Bulgaria's entry into World War I on the side of the Central Powers. Although Deunov would later prove to be right about that decision, that didn't stop the government from exiling him for a year. Avoidance Tactics Peter Deunov (1864-1944) proffered an occult mixture of ideas for soul, brain and heart development, and of resuscitation of the body. He considered God to be a pantheist deity, while Christ was an occult teacher and the leader of an universal brotherhood. The universe was the home to angels, archangels and other supernatural creatures and forces, and human souls got reborn. Deunov considered the white race to be superior as it was the most developed in comparison to all others. It was the final evolution step before the attainment of a hypothetical "sixth," "supreme race." To achieve perfection, all human souls had to be reborn as white people.

No knowledge, no love, no wisdom in the world can be compared to prayer, to a person's communion with the Primary Principle. True prayer means the awakening of the Divine within the human being. You should concentrate all your forces on one aim - to develop the Divine in yourself and to give it precedence over the human. Your present life is a slavery, a heavy prison. Understand your situation and liberate yourself from it. I tell you this: exit from your prison! It is really sorry to see so much misleading, so much suffering, so much incapacity to understand where one's true happiness lies.
This region is called "the thirteenth zone"; one also calls it "the zone of contradictions". Our planet was enclosed in this region for thousands of years, but finally we are approaching the exit of this space of darkness and we are on the point of attaining a more spiritual region, where more evolved beings live. This theosophical view about the domination of the world by the Anglo-Saxons, given through mediums like Blavatzky by invisible masters, has been incorporated into the American ideology of living in ‘God’s own country’ and of being blessed by God. This ideology is used to justify the global activities of the Anglo-Saxon spiritual, political and economic elites. In his lectures Peter Deunov also spoke about Divine Wisdom. “God is Love, Wisdom and Truth”, [ 28 ] he often said. Rudolf Steiner saw the second aspect of the new culture (the creation of communities in the spirit of love) in relation to the work of the Manicheans, of which the Bulgarian Bogomils had been representatives. In these two aspects, wisdom and love are the two fundamental qualities of the new culture. Get out any anger! God is not a God of anger, but of gentleness. He does not accept gossip and ingratitude. Our mother, the earth, will get rid of men that don't accept the New Life. She will reject them like damaged fruit. They will soon not be able to reincarnate on this planet; criminals included. Only those that possess Love in them will remain.According to Pavel Biryukov, a biographer of Count Leo N. Tolstoy, the great Russian thinker and writer left Yasna Polyana shortly before his death (1910) with the intention to travel to Bulgaria to meet Master Peter Deunov. Some decades will pass before this Fire will come, that will transform the world by bringing it a new moral. This immense wave comes from cosmic space and will inundate the entire earth. All those that attempt to oppose it will be carried off and transferred elsewhere.
Deunov also mentions that our solar system is currently traversing an unhealthy dusty region of “contaminated space” called the “13th zone” which was left behind by the destruction of a constellation (or star?): They give to them good conditions to grow and to develop themselves, and to those that want to listen to them, they say: "Do not be afraid! Still a little more time and everything will be all right; you are on the good path. May he that wants to enter in the New Culture study, consciously work and prepare." The Fire of which I speak, that accompanies the new conditions offered to our planet, will rejuvenate, purify, reconstruct everything: the matter will be refined, your hearts will be liberated from anguish, troubles, incertitude, and they will become luminous; everything will be improved, elevated; the thoughts, sentiments and negative acts will be consumed and destroyed. Give place to Gentleness in your soul and call its children - Selflessness and Meekness together with Politeness and Good nature. And when you do all this, give thanks to God for His help to guard you from evil and to place you in His abode in safety. Sing and praise the Lord in your souls, because your salvation is reality and Heaven is your home. His first public lecture was in 1914, aged 50. In total he gave thousands of lectures (figures between 3700 and 6000 are given) in the 30 years period up to 1944, teaching by stories like old prophets.
As early as 1897 he had a group of like-minded followers. That same year he founded his Association for the Elevation of the Religious Spirit of the Bulgarian Society. This was the beginning of what would evolve into the Universal White Brotherhood, in 1918. Deunov, whom his followers called Beinsa Douno or simply The Teacher, would go on travelling Bulgaria and giving thousands of talks in a bid to attract new followers.

This offer was withdrawn after he stipulated he would only serve without remuneration. In 1896 he published Science and Education, in which he analyzed the development of mankind into a new culture, which he thought was bound to take place during the forthcoming century. After the turn of the century, Dunov began to travel throughout Bulgaria for several years, giving talks and undertaking phrenological research. [ citation needed] He met with a wide circle of people. Among them were his first three disciples, who had belonged to different branches of Christianity – Todor Stoimenov ( Eastern Orthodox), Dr. Mirkovich ( Catholic) and Penyu Kirov ( Protestant). After a long correspondence, all of them met in Varna during 19–23 July 1900. It is considered the first annual convention of what later became a spiritual community that lasted until the end of Dunov's life. Dunov eventually settled in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and began giving lectures. [ citation needed] Unfortunately, there wasn't a happy ending for Deunov, either. In 1944, Soviet forces invaded Bulgaria, and the Christian guru died two days before Communist authorities could arrest him for his spiritual teachings. The government continued to harass and persecute his followers until the fall of Communism in 1989. The words "If you are not born again." apply to the sixth race. Read Chapter 60 of Isaiah it relates to the coming of the sixth race the Race of Love. In 1914 he gave his first public lecture, Behold, the Man! ( Ecce Homo in Latin), published later in the series Power and Life. Dunov began to give regular Sunday lectures which were based on the elaboration and explanation of a Biblical passage.
