In contrast to the previous models, a setup is no longer necessary. The tuning module can be used immediately after installation. All necessary settings are made automatically. This also applies in the event of a conversion, temporary removal or when replacing the display. The 2022 Trance and Reign models are the first to feature the new Syncdrive Pro2 motor. Based on the popular Yamaha PW-X3, however, different connectors are used than on the common Syncdrive drives. So the manufacturer VOLspeed decided to design a new tuning module. All of these tuning chips fit directly to the motor with original connections. Once fitted, riders simply activate the chip each time they wish to ride derestricted. The sIMPLEk Pro Nano has the option of setting a permanent mode, it will automatically activate when the bike is powered on. Engine support can be individually set in the individual driving levels. Even while driving, you can easily switch between the alternative and standard modes. In this blog post we'll explain how you can derestrict an eBike with a Bosch motor. We'll discuss everything you need to know about tuning chips for the standard Bosch motors found on any eBikes from 2014 to present.

Please note that whilst these tuning kits have a very high success rate, neither of them are 100% guaranteed. If you're unfortunate to get a 504 error, there is no need to panic, simply reset the eBike and you're good to go again. As with the predecessor, when tuning is activated, the battery charge level is also displayed as a percentage, alternating with the range. This is now only shown on the Intuvia and Purion, as all other displays already show the charge level in percent. Limit adjustment / tamper detectionThe limit can be adjusted in steps of 1km/h as with the V3. However, an adjustment is only possible up to a maximum of 45km/h. On the one hand, even higher speeds are hardly achievable anyway due to the limited motor power and the bike’s transmission. On the other hand, a higher limit significantly increases the probability of the tamper detection (error code 504) responding. Last but not least, the risk of an accident increases significantly. We are constantly evaluating the functionality of our tuning modules with the different software versions from Bosch. Please note: none of the tuning chips listed below are compatible with eBikes fitted with the Rim Magnet sensor, located on the rear-wheel valve. It is no problem to fit the VOLspeed V4 tuning module to the BOSCH engine. Activation and control are automatic and no setup is required. Both modules now appear uniformly as “V4”, since they have the same range of functions. Function overviewIn this blog post we are going to review the VOLspeed V3 tuning chip. This chip is used to derestrict an eBike with a Bosch motor and works on any model from 2014-2021 including Gen4 Performance Line CX. Before we start, please note that removing the speed limit on your eBike can void your warranty, derestricted eBikes are illegal and only to be used on private land. The V3 was the most reliable tuning chip on the market, resulting in very few 504 (anti-tuning) errors. The VOLspeed V3 tuning chip is a great option for Bosch eBike owners. It is compatible with all Bosch eBikes from 2014 - 2021 meaning that it can be used on a huge variety of different Bosch motors. Good news if you are currently on a 2018 Bosch Active Line but have plans to upgrade to Gen 4 in the future! FeaturesYou can use the tuning immediately after plugging it in. No setup is necessary as with the predecessor model. A few words about the eMTB mode and the TOUR+ mode: In these two modes, the level of support changes with the pedal force. For example, the support in eMTB mode is not a constant 210%, but can also be significantly lower at low pedal torque, but also significantly higher at higher torque. If your bike is equipped with the eMTB mode or also with the TOUR+ mode, you can specifically switch off these modes by activating the alternative mode.

V2 and V3 only: We recommend setting a maximum speed limit of 35km/h to permanently prevent the tamper detection (error 504) from responding. A higher limit does not necessarily lead to the error, but increases the probability significantly. The advice I've had from someone who knows much more than myself in this area is that the gen 2 is going to be more reliable with the volspeed working without throwing up an error. Their rationale: the speed tampering recognition is not as advanced, and also that the older gen will not recieve the same kinds of regular updates trying to stamp out modification.
