About this deal

Wanna party?” she’d said, smelling of cigarettes and beer. She didn’t have to ask him twice. He doesn’t remember much else. Alex Finlay proves once again he’s a master storyteller. What Have We Done has unrelenting action, inspired characters, and an innovative, pulse pounding plot. Alex Finlay has become one of today’s top thriller writers. This is why. Read this book.”— Robert Dugoni, New York Times bestselling author

As we are all too aware, people who survive that double bind can be haunted by debilitating cognitive dissonance and subsequent emotional dysregulation. In this “top-notch mystery thriller” ( Publishers Weekly, starred review), What Have We Done is a tale about the lives we leave behind and the secrets we carry with us forever. Overall, while I did not dislike Alex Finlay's What Have We Done, I wasn’t quite bowled over by it. But I am eager to read more from Alex Finlay in the future. I really hope he gives us another book featuring FBI Special Agent Sarah Keller (from The Night Shift and Every Last Fear). Thank you so much to the publisher, Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio, for providing me with copies to read and review. I was really looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. Many of these individuals were teenagers or in their early 20s, and who were as such, developmentally or otherwise unprepared for these types of responsibilities and experiences. Five kids all made it out of a horrendous group-home as teenagers. Although severely scarred mentally from the experience they all became rather successful in their own fields of choice. Pfft.” Tom grips the microphone, leaning as if he’s being held up by the stand. Donnie has a brief image of a younger man in the same pose. Even then, Tom was always bossing everyone around. The only thing that’s changed is Tom’s hair plugs, those white Chiclet teeth, and the tighter fit of his leather pants.
