Written from her point of view, I enjoy seeing what's inside her mind, wondering what it's like to be a very smart girl and it's so fun! The adventures and little things that she wants to explore are so refreshing. Agatha is named after Agatha Christie and I think her special appreciation for Detective Poirot is going to introduce a new generation to those stories. I know at nearly 30 years old by the second mention of Hercule in this book I was ready to find out what I've been missing by not having ready Agatha Christie yet. But she said Agatha should think about real puzzles, not just word searches and numbers. She had said: ‘Everybody is a puzzle, Agatha. Those are the really important puzzles.’ First of all, mystery has always been something that I love and I was so eager to read this series. Neben Agatha haben mir auch die Nebenfiguren wieder richtig gut gefallen. Agathas Dad zum Beispiel, ist ein total lieber und herzensguter Mensch. Wen ich ganz besonders fest in mein Herz geschlossen habe, ist Agathas bester Freund Liam. Liam ist ein prima Kerl, ihn muss man einfach gernhaben. Klasse finde ich auch die neue Freundin der beiden, Brianna. Die drei ergeben ein tolles Team und können sich stets aufeinander verlassen. I especially didn’t like how the main character Agatha had a ‘I’m not like other girls’ attitude which is something I really despise and I hate this trope in books. To have this shown in a middle grade book is just even more frustrating as it’s so harmful. This puts girl/women down and pits them against each other. It also perpetuates the notion that because some girls like to wear make up or enjoying shopping and doing their hair etc... they’re less than. What’s wrong with liking these things? Thinking ‘I’m not like other girls’ is associating the qualities you hate with girls/women. This book was just fantastic. I started and finished it in a single day. I just couldn't separate myself from the wonderful, quirky personality that is Agatha. She's a 13 year old girl with more gumption than I had at that age or even have now in my late 20's.

Da ich aber nicht zu viel verraten möchte, werde ich über die weiteren Figuren jetzt einfach mal schweigen. Stellt euch einfach mal darauf ein, dass ihr es mit so einigen Personen zu tun bekommen werdet, bei denen ihr zunächst nicht so recht wisst, woran ihr bei ihnen seid. Pünktlich zum Schulbeginn ist erneut Agathas Spürsinn gefragt: Im British Museum wurde einer der Nachtwächter ermordet! Klar, dass Agatha sofort Feuer und Flamme ist und den Mord unbedingt aufklären möchte. Die Polizei tappt noch im Dunklen, aber Meisterdetektivin Agatha hat bereits eine heiße Spur. Sie beginnt also auf eigene Faust zu ermitteln und wird dabei auf unglaubliche Dinge stoßen.Was dann natürlich auf gar keinen Fall unerwähnt bleiben darf, ist die zauberhafte Innengestaltung. Größere Illustrationen gibt es zwar leider wieder keine, aber dafür viele kleine wundervolle schwarz-weiß Zeichnungen von Max Meinzold. Mir hat die Aufmachung erneut total gut gefallen!
