About this deal

Primus identified Spike to Rodimus Prime as one of four threats to the Great Plan. Destiny, Part Five With his anger, it was easy to see why—even after the human coalition voted to accept Prime's offer of rigging a space bridge to connect them to Nebulos for mutual gain, Spike less-than-subtly implied he might destroy the Bridge anyway. The War to End All Wars, Part 1

Fortress Maximus" was one of Metroplex's preliminary names. Evidence of this is supported in the storyboard for the 1986 movie, where it refers to Autobot City as "Fortress Maximus" in its fully weaponized state. This also carried over to the Marvel comic adaptation of the movie in a caption. In the Legends World, Fire Convoy was a fictional character in a franchise of toys and media. Affected by Tankor's '80s Transformation Beam, a TV began airing adult-rated content at prime time as was acceptable in the '80s, including a scene of Fire Convoy creeping on a bathing T-AI. Bonus Edition Vol. 3 When Sky-Byte, still on Earth in the 2004 of the G1 World, was sent to the Legends World, he was perplexed to find that the Transformers were fictional. When Rattrap explained to him about characters like Optimus Prime, Sky-Byte found through research that "Optimus Prime" was the English name of his hated enemy, Fire Convoy. Thus, he sought to ruin Fire Convoy's reputation in this world... by dressing up as Age of Extinction Optimus Prime. The plan didn't work out, as Sky-Byte was unable to bring himself to crush young fans' dreams. Bonus Edition Vol. 6 This section does not cite any sources. By some bizarre twist of fate, the standard robot mode has four Mini-Con ports on his arms before they were used in Armada. The 5 mm pegs on his guns are trimmed on the side, and consequently don't fit securely into his hands or the 5 mm ports on other figures; the optimal position for them is on Cog's forearms, as is demonstrated in the above image. Additionally, most of the pegholes featured on Cog's body are in fact hexagonal as opposed to circular, which combined with the trimmed circles leaves them unable to stay positioned properly. A running change solved this problem by slightly altering the shape of the handles to make them rounder; this change was retained in later versions of the mold.

Though Spike and company were highly suspicious of the man, they agreed to follow him nonetheless, as he claimed to have a spaceship stashed nearby. Upon coming upon the craft however, the man revealed himself to be a Decepticon Pretender, and opened fire on Spike to provoke the Autobots into unveiling their true natures as well. Elizabeth managed to shove Spike out of harm's way, and the Autobots battled their new opponent: the universe's native Megatron! History Fortress's "head mode" was previously seen in " Rebellion on Planet Beast" and " The Shadow Emperor, Scorponok". Its true purpose is revealed in this episode. Given the surprise expressed by the Autobot Headmasters, despite the fact they were aware of his big head alternate mode, they apparently never stopped to ask their leader what was up with that. The Japanese book Transformers Generations contains concept art for an unmade Action Master version of Metroplex. Scourge's attempts to analyse Cerebros's programming were hampered by its complexity; however, he believed that Fortress Maximus was programmed to obey humans. To that end, he amplified his own human bio-energy (obtained when he scanned his alternate mode) and took Cerebros into the desert where the 'bot combined with Fortress Maximus. Once the Autobots had manage to stop Maximus, with the help of many, many children, Cerebros detached and was promptly spirited away by Galvatron. The Human Element An eight-chapter manga adaptation of this anime was written by Masami Kaneda and illustrated by Ban Magami as part of their Fight! Super Robot Life Form Transformers: The Comics ( 戦え!超ロボット生命体トランスフォーマー ザ☆コミックス, Tatakae! Chō Robotto Seimeitai Toransufōmā: Za Komikkusu) series.Discovering that Megatron was holding Sidney Biggles-Jones captive, Spike realized that he had no choice but to bond with Fortress Maximus once more, only to find that Megatron had disabled Maximus's dormant body while rebuilding the Ark, leaving him under-equipped for combat. Caught in the act of donning his armor by fellow stowaway Skydive, Spike combined with Maximus (curiously omitting Cerebros from the process) and explained his presence, then charged Skydive with rescuing Doctor Biggles-Jones while he and Maximus took Megatron on. Unsurprisingly, Megatron grievously wounded the pair, forcing Skydive to step in and distract him long enough for Maximus to escape, and make his way to the Ark's anti-matter power core. Intended to breach the core with his body and destroy the ship, hoping to take Megatron with it, Maximus instructed Spike to disconnect and escape, but Spike resolved to stay with his partner to the end to ensure their success. They smashed into the core together and perished in the resultant ship-destroying explosion, but alas, their sacrifice was in vain, as Megatron survived. All or Nothing!

There, Scorponok lured Fortress Maximus onto a crysmagnetal dais, at which point, an orbiting Decepticon satellite that had been gathering the energies projected by the Death Towers activated, beaming the collected energy down to the dais. Scorponok disconnected from his transtector, and left the paralyzed Fortress Maximus trapped in the satellite's beam, part of a deadly circuit of energy that threatened to tear the Earth apart. The four Headmasters joined in Head Formation and tried to channel their energy into Fortress Maximus in hopes of giving him the strength to break free, but their own power was not enough. At Daniel's suggestion, all the other Autobots linked up as part of the chain, and together combined in "Final Formation", they infused Maximus with enough energy to deflect the satellite's beam with the Master Sword, destroying it. With one mighty slash, Fortress Maximus bisected Scorponok's transtector, finally ending the Decepticon threat. Metroplex returned to Cybertron, where he served as a base of operations for Alpha Trion while he began his endeavours to restore the damaged planet to habitability. Despite his prodigious strength and size, Metroplex was of little use in battle against the Insecticon swarm that had overrun Cybertron (the swarm was simply too great in size, and would eat their way inside his systems before he could destroy them all), so instead, Alpha Trion resurrected the deceased Ironhide to carry out the task. Once Ironhide had reduced the swarm's numbers to a mere two hundred, Alpha Trion had Metroplex transform to robot mode and crush the remaining Insecticons beneath his massive palms. Subsequently, Alpha Trion and Metroplex left Cybertron for parts unknown, off to put into motion the next move in the great, enigmatic game Alpha Trion was playing. Any Old Iron

Optimus Prime was gathered in Axiom Nexus by its Optimus Prime, along with a roster of other Optimus Primes and their kin in a group known as the Convoy. A multiversal cataclysm in a universe seeded with Rarified Energon and an invasion by evil Autobots from the negative polarity universe had called them into action. Since Matrix bearers were usually never allowed into Axiom Nexus, this was a grave threat indeed! Invasion Prologue Fortress Maximus later attended a farewell party for the decommissioned Lost Light in Swerve's bar, where he apologized to the Scavengers for attempting to kill them. Misfire couldn't help but admire his leg guns. How To Say Goodbye And Mean It: Part 2 Cerebros's character model's head bears more resemblance to Cog's, as opposed to the Cerebros toy's, which is functionally a smaller version of Fortress Maximus's head.
