About this deal

Rear-projection TVs might be dead, but projectorsaren't. Projectors are still the most popular way to set up extra-large, 100-inch-plus screens. Their pictures aren't nearly as bright as LCD TVs, and they can't offer the same contrast as LCDs or OLEDs, but they are a lot more scalable. If you want to spend the cash, a good projector or array of projectors can make a picture as big as you want, from comfortably couch-sized to IMAX levels and beyond. Any 4K Ultra UHD Smart TV from top brands like Sony, Samsung, or LG will give you excellent picture quality since they have 4 times higher pixels compared to regular HDTVs. Which is the Best 4K TV?

According to Sharp, this combination of technologies for the AQUOS XLED TVs confers unique advantages, blending the best qualities of an LCD and OLED TV with Sharp’s Mini-LED offering being brighter than the former and offering greater contrast than the latter.UHD upscaling allows you to have an excellent video experience. Also, Sceptre has an enhanced video chip-set. The TV has a standard definition and full high definition that is ultimately improved to 4K resolution, giving you quality images close to a UHD display. The feature adds color to your older films. On the acoustic front, our Sharp AQUOS XLED TV review unit with its built-in 85W speakers was able to offer excellent volume that’s loud enough to terrify the neighbours two houses away without distortion. There’s also a good amount of sound left and right sound staging too though this is understandably not particularly deep seeing the speaker setup though bass was pleasantly rumbly. Overall, this TV convinced me I will not be buying a Sharp TV in the future, and makes me suspicious of the quality in other products Sharp makes. After one year of ownership, I'm highly disappointed - I expected better. It's like Hisense got rid of everything great about Sharp, and put their cheap garbage in a box and up-sold it with Sharp's name. It works OK - but it's not very refined. Behind the low quality hardware and misleading advertising comes software that resembles a rough draft pushed into production too soon. As upset as I am that it's already starting to break, I cannot wait for it to finally self destruct so I can replace it with one of Sharp's competitors; and I don't mean Hisense who now owns Sharp. Would I recommend this TV? No - there are better choices. If you are between this TV and another, get the other TV. It works most of the time, but it has too many bad days and it's not going to last as long as it should. Here is the good and bad:

When considering Sharp TVs, it’s important to understand what has happened with the company in the last decade and how that altered TV production. HDR and Dolby Vision content look very good to me. Again this is my first 4K set that has these features so I do not have another one to compare it to and they did not have a display model in the store. I turned the reds up a few notches as I thought they were a little washed out and they look good to me. VESA is the Video Electronics Standards Association. It’s a global not-for-profit organization developing industry-wide standards for the PC monitor and display industry.HDMI input 1 failed within the first 7 months. This is absolutely not acceptable. It's not new or unique technology, it should last longer.

It will also be great to note that the TV features an in-plane switching panel, which is not common in LCD TVs. However, the panel can offer color accuracy and an even better viewing angle as compared to the VA panel. This technology is vital as it keeps the picture contrast and color looking crispy even for people seated around the corners of the TV. So, basically, when you are measuring the VESA of your tv, you simply means that you are measuring the exact distance in meters.

Across these TVs, you’ll get fairly robust HDR support, Dolby Atmos support, and the Fire TV OS for all the 4K streaming you could want. Onkyo speakers are a nice addition, but of course, for a premium sound, you’ll want to invest in an external sound solution, such as a budget-focused soundbar. All told, with modern features and specs, these TVs can get the job done. Like most new electronic devices, extra-large screen televisions were high-end items during their initial years of release, but have become much more affordable in the last two years. They are definitely worth purchasing if you have enough space and you love to watch movies or enjoy the latest binge-watch with movie-theater quality visuals right in your own home.
