About this deal

The Explorer-200P passed all our tests with flying colours and was a delight to use optically and mechanically. The 9x magnification also makes it easier to see faint objects that may be difficult to see with the naked eye. BrilliantFirst telescope . Stupidly easy to set up , me and my daughter were looking at the moon and jupiter within an hour of unboxing it and I had never even touched a telescope previously . We were amazed. Can't speak knowlede about the specifications but I couldn't be more impressed from a beginners per (14/11/2022) - The Plossl design provides good eye relief and clear views of objects, making it easy to observe objects with fine details. Additionally, the telescope can also be used to observe the Moon and planets such as Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. Is the Sky-Watcher 200P telescope good for astrophotography?

Many people have reported getting only the base or two bases rather than the tube and the base. This is alarming because, obviously, the tube is the most expensive part and this has happened enough to cause me to raise an eyebrow. It seems convenient to leave out the most prominent part of the kit over and over again.

The Sky-Watcher 200P’s alt-azimuth mount has two axes of motion: altitude and azimuth. The altitude axis allows you to move the telescope up and down, while the azimuth axis allows you to move it left and right. All Sky-Watcher f/5 ('fast') Newtonian Reflectors and Dobsonian models feature High Quality Parabolic Primary Mirrors to eliminate spherical aberrations inherent in 'fast' focal length reflectors with spherical primary mirrors. The mirrors are parabolized to bring all the light rays to the same focal point to give sharp, constrasty images, which are full of detail. For those interested in astrophotography, a more advanced mount and telescope combination may be necessary. The Sky-Watcher 200P telescope has some advantages and limitations. Here are some of them: Pros of the Sky-Watcher 200P telescope

In each case you need to add T2 adapter for your DSLR (around 20e) so you can attach your camera to telescope. The globular started out as a mass of cotton wool, which became a swarm of stars at higher magnification with a hint of the dark propeller shape many observers comment on seeing with larger instruments. Sky-Watcher Dobsonian telescopes perform well when observing the Moon, planets, Deep Sky Objects and nebulae.Additionally, the telescope is relatively affordable compared to other models with similar specifications. The 8” Traditional, or the Skywatcher Classic 200p, is an 8” f/5.9 Newtonian, manufactured by Suzhou Synta Optical Technologies—the same company that owns Celestron and manufactures Orion’s XT and XX Dobsonians. The mirrors are made of borosilicate glass (Pyrex), which expands far less with expansion and contraction than plate glass. Quality-wise, they tend to be good. First telescope 5 starThis is my first telescope. Arrived faster than I expected, especially close to Christmas. The telescope comes with EQ5 mount, very heavier and sturdy. Unfortunately haven't got a chance to look at the sky due to the bad weather. (14/12/2018) Leo - Plymouth The Dobsonian telescopes are named after John Dobson, an amateur astronomer who designed a very simple but effective telescope, where the key factor is a large aperture for little money. His idea was to mount a Newton telescope on an easy-to-use alt-azimuth mount that does not need time-consuming alignments.
