Candy Kittens are the brainchild of reality TV star Jaimie Lang and his business partner Ed Williams. The pair wanted to create a sweet shop that felt as good as it tasted, and so the entirely vegan Candy Kittens was born. The first bear shaped chocolate-covered marshmallow candy was invented and manufactured in 1962 by the chocolate factory Bouquet d'Or, in Ascq (now Villeneuve-d'Ascq), France [1] [2] [3] under the name 'Petit ourson'.
