About this deal

Yes, you can! Just make sure they are not overly big or they may not dry properly. You can mix them up with mini cookie cutters or even roll into balls. Personally I believe they should be in bite sizes though so just be careful on not making them *too* big. If I use extract, can I use a different extract than Peppermint? Your homemade cream cheese mints can be served at room temperature for a couple hours. However, since they are made with cream cheese, these holiday mints do need to be refrigerated for long-term storage. You can keep the mints in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Yield: When we made this recipe we got about 4 dozen bite-size mints. Depending on how big of a spoonful you use for your dough balls, you may end up with slightly more or slightly fewer mints.Making Cream Cheese Mints has been on my list for several years, with all the other Christmas baking to be done, I just never got around to it. When coloring the mint dough, start with a small amount of the coloring since you are only tinting a small amount of dough. Add additional food coloring until you get the desired shade. I used gel food coloring. SIMPLICITY: This recipe is incredibly easy to follow, making it perfect for both beginner and experienced cooks. The step-by-step instructions ensure that you’ll achieve beautiful, tasty mints every time. STEP ELEVEN: Using the tip of a fork, lightly press the Christmas peppermint patties into little discs. Place them onto the prepared baking tray. Repeat until all the dough balls are coated and on the baking tray.

Gluten Free Brownies with Mint Chocolate: If you love a gooey brownie but you’ve sworn off flour and other glutens, this is the recipe for you! These luscious brownies are heavy on the chocolate and light on the things that aren’t good for you. Best of all, they’re loaded with minty goodness.Step 4 – Add in Powdered Sugar –Then place the mixer on low and gradually add in the remaining powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, scraping down the sides of the bowl after each cup is added in. Now it’s time to pipe the cream cheese mints – line a cookie sheet with parchment paper first. Then pipe on the size of mints that you want. If you enjoy York Peppermint Patties, these taste ever better! The flavor is awesome and the inside is softer and creamier. Coat: Toss each dough ball in a bowl of sugar to coat and place them onto the prepared baking tray.

Flavors: We used peppermint extract for a cool and minty holiday treat. However, you could use different extracts or flavorings such as almond extract (one of my favorites), sweet mint extract, vanilla extract, etc. Food Coloring - Gel food coloring is ideal as it is more intense and does not alter the texture of your mints like liquid food coloring might. These easy Christmas peppermint patties can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. Our peppermint candy recipe requires no cooking and creates a big batch of butter mint dough that you simply color, roll into logs, cut into pieces, coat in sugar, and flatten with a fork. These creamy mints came together very easily. I can’t believe I’ve never made them before! Add in the powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing on low speed, until everything is well incorporated and smooth, Orange-Almond. I used this combination in my glaze over my poppyseed cake and it remains one of my favorites. I can’t wait to try it in these mints. Pro Tip #1: If you are using red coloring, be sure to use – no taste red, otherwise, the regular red coloring is very bitter.

Place the two colors into balls and set aside. The red dough portion will be considerably smaller than the white.
