About this deal

Cut your design: First you need to cut your design and weed it, remember that you need to mirror the design before cutting if you are using heat transfer vinyl for your project. in this case, I am going to share the sample project that comes with the Easypress 2, so I didn't have to cut it and the carrier sheet comes with the shape of the graphic, so there is no weeding to do. Enjoy your finished project! And remember to not wash your item for the first 24 hrs, to use only gentle detergents and do not use bleach =] Use a protective sheet. Teflon sheets are the best way to not only protect your press but also your projects. I learned this lesson when using my regular iron, you need to be cautious as possible when using heat, and especially with the temperatures that the EasyPress achieves to do sublimation projects, you should always protect them using Teflon sheets!

Preheat your surface: Once your EasyPress has reached the desired temperature, it will beep. Now you can press your surface for about 5 seconds. The EasyPress Mat comes in three sizes so you don’t have to buy a mat that’s bigger than what you need: 8in x 10in, 12in x 12in, and 20in x 16in. The mat is one-sided, and the internal layers are designed to help you get the perfect transfer. Both the EasyPress and the EasyPress 2 will up the quality of your designs. They have very similar capabilities. Cricut has a very handy guide outlining the differences between the EasyPress and the EasyPress 2, as well as a traditional iron and a lower cost heat press.

Plug and turn your EasyPress 2 on, set your temperature: Depending on what you are using you need to set the temperature accordingly, for this sample project the temperature should be 290°F (or 145°C) and the times to 30 seconds. Temperature button: To set a temperature, simply press this button and use the + or – to get to your desired temperature. Hold this button down and you can change between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

The EasyPress is a Cricut machine companion, it combines the lightweight portability of a regular iron with the evenly-distributed heat and the surface of a heat press.

Peel the carrier sheet: One thing you want to pay attention to, in case you use a different brand of iron-on vinyl, is if it’s cold, warm or hot peel. While it might seem like it’s just a silly detail. Some kinds of heat transfer vinyl work better when peeled off at a certain temperature. Cricut EasyPress 9 x 9 inches: This is the medium size and weighing only 5.7lb it’s the perfect size for most projects and probably the most recommend if you are an EasyPress newbie. It works perfectly for projects like: Preheat base material. Protect blank with butcher paper and move Cricut EasyPress Mini all over application area for recommended time.

Before getting an EasyPress 2, I did a bunch of research, so by the time I received mine, I had a bunch of helpful tips already written down. Before having an EasyPress 2, I thought that I didn’t need one, that my iron would do just fine. And if you are only making small things for yourself, I don't think the price tag justify for you to get one. The first thing to discuss in any complete guide to using the Cricut EasyPress is why it’s actually necessary in the first place. Until now, I have always used an iron for my heat transfer and iron-on projects. And almost all of them turned out good. Learn more about Cricut materials with my tutorials for how to cut leather, how to cut chipboard on a Cricut, how to cut wood with the Maker’s knife blade, and how use Infusible Ink on coaster blanks! What is the Cricut EasyPress Mat and Do I need one? Also, if you are going to press fabrics, consider pre-washing them as well, this way you take the initial shrinkage out of the way.Avoid seams, buttons, and zippers when positioning Cricut EasyPress on base material. If the heat plate crosses over these things the design will not receive even heat, resulting in unwanted effects. When applying designs to u nusual objects, around seams, or in hard-to-reach places, use Cricut EasyPress Mini. One great tip from the folks at Cricut is to fold your base material in half and use your EasyPress to create small creases in the material. This will for a plus sign on your base material that will help guide you when placing larger items.

Also, if you are going to press of tees or other kinds of fabrics, pre-wash them, so that your vinyl down get ruined by the shrinkage of the fabric. For precise time and temperature settings and recommended pressure for your project, refer to the Cricut Heat Guide or Cricut Heat app (for Cricut EasyPress 3). All Cricut iron-on products can be used in layering, but Cricut recommends using some materials as final layers only: foil, glitter, holographic, and holographic sparkle iron-on. Additionally, SportFlex Iron-On should be layered on top of other SportFlex Iron-On only—that’s from Cricut. I’ve never worked with SportFlex. For best results, don’t include more than four layers on designs. Lay your project down: To get the best result, you should always work on a flat solid surface. Measure to make sure your design is centered and right where you want it to be. Your sandwich should look like this, from top to bottom:Orange light means it's heating up. Green light means temperature has been reached. Beep sounds when it's ready. Layering materials is an easy way to add dimension to your heat transfer projects. (See my tutorial for how to layer iron-on vinyl for more!) In fact, there are many Cricut designs out there that are designed specifically with layering in mind. They have multiple layers that are placed on top or one another to create the final image. They have improved several aspects, the first version was only available in one size and one color, now some of the sizes are available in a range of colors. Heat Transfer Vinyl– Make sure you are using HEAT transfer vinyl, this is a different kind, and you also have to remember to mirror the graphics before cutting them. You don’t have to use an EasyPress Mat with the EasyPress, but it was designed for it and makes things really seamless. You want to avoid ironing boards, corrugated cardboard, and silicone baking mats/aluminum boil, which gets very very hot. Working around seams and zippers
