The speaker’s sound is better than expected considering the price and quality. Logitech has done an amazing job on the product. Clarity and richness of sound – with their active crossovers and excellent drivers, the Logitech Z313s sound better than even many more expensive systems That is, the high frequencies don’t go anywhere that high, the bass doesn’t go that deep, and the system doesn’t really have that much power. One note boomy bass that is noisy rumble poop, completely unredeemable even at negligible listening volumes. The small, full-range drivers of the Z313 satellites may not seem like much, but they offer a satisfying sound, relatively low distortion and are smooth and open sounding – quite impressive, in fact, considering their low price.
Imaging very relative to placement, but can be pretty entertaining. Little point sources in small boxes can do a good job of performing on a desktop.
Specification
The CA-3602a, by Cyber Acoustics, is a sleek speaker system with a separate subwoofer and a desktop control pod. The Logitech Z313 is less priced, but the sound quality оf this one is far superior, and it doesn’t include extra features like a headphone connector or an auxiliary input.
You can see the chunky treble around 7.5k that is troubling. I'm guessing this is diffraction from the baffle/waveguide. At 45 degrees off axis the cone break up tries to make another appearance despite the massive EQ cuts to that range. Other than that they roll off evenly from 1k on down with no crossover artifacts, because there is no crossover in this range. The subwoofer of the Logitech Z313 is responsible for its deep and clean bass. The subwoofer is bigger than the satellites, but it’s still compact. It has a good frequency response and delivers a good bass level that is not boomy. They gave me a solid stereo image, had plenty of power for my office, the highs, midrange, and bass notes were well balanced, and the sound was detailed, smooth, and rich. Whether you want to play music softly or really crank it up, the volume control is right in your hand.As the love for games is spreading, you might be here to look for a budget speaker that is good for gaming. Well, look no further. Small maybe 1 inch port is tuned deep for the box, just eyeballing it I would guess that it's probably a 40-45Hz tuning. I'm expecting port noise to be an issue. More importantly, they avoid the shrill, unpleasant high frequencies I have heard so often in other budget speaker systems. The bass is not too good, but it still is deep enough to satisfy. When it comes to clarity, I am really satisfied. It’s not the clearest sound, but it is up to the mark that you can understand the dialogue when watching a movie. This means that the speaker is still going to be hissing in a few spots from diffraction, port noise, and cabinet resonances but should be tonally passable even if the response is a little chunky in spots.
