About this deal

We continued to run, neither of us speaking. I preferred the silence, though I was keenly aware of his presence, of his exhales and heavy steps." The last tiny thing that I would´ve wished for, which didn´t impact my reading experience that much because I read it on my kindle but might annoy someone who is reading a physical copy, is that the characters use a lot of Italian words, and phrases, and not all of them are translated so that I always had to look them up (which is easy while reading on my kindle, but I can imagine isn´t quite as comfortable with the physical book). So maybe a glossary, in the end, would've been good to just see an overview of all the translations.

Francesca is this sassy, feisty, loudmouth, opinionated, modern 18 year old; whereas Fausto is older, domineering, old school Italian, a-hole, but man does sex just oozes from him. These two are A LOT of like, only Francesca doesn't know it yet.

Mafia Darling (The Kings of Italy, #2) - Mila Finelli

Congratulations! Thanks to your roommate, you've landed yourself a brand new job at the Welcome Home Restoration Project. It's well-paid and well worth it, if you can ignore the horrendous hours, the strange inconsistencies, and the constant feeling that someone is watching you... Elena Lombardi from The Evolution Of Sin trilogy is here and finally gets her own story. She is a powerful criminal lawyer and now has to help mafia capo Dante Salvatore get out of trouble…well at least some of it…defending him. Elena loathes this devious and dark man. Dante knows this but can’t help to provoke his new spitfire attorney. Can she clear him on this charge without killing him herself? If you haven’t read the previous trilogy no worries, you are able to start with this duet. I wanted to give Elena a clean slate going into this so I too have not read the previous trilogy where she first appeared. As this is a duet it ends on a major cliffhanger. I loved Dante and Elena. Their chemistry and banter are a perfect combination. What a rush of intrigue, action and suspense that will have you counting down the days until book two. I’ve fallen Hard for this Capo!!! A Must Read Mafia Romance! Told in dual POV

And since we don't see and POV from Frankie or Fausto it's hard to even tell what the damage is to that family. Oh well!Forced into a high position, in charge of a crumbling kingdom, a small noble of no consequences attends the most important event in the land. With the goal of seeking help from the two Kings and Queen, what she will find won't be anything like she expected. With so many secrets (some of them her own), can friendship and love be found...? Language: English Words: 177,339 Chapters: 21/? Comments: 446 Kudos: 786 Bookmarks: 87 Hits: 16,938 Elena not being the bad bitch lawyer I LOVED in the first part. Like she was feeling like a side character straight out of another book. Didn't recognize her from the first book. Unsurprisingly, I liked Enzo much more than Fausto and I think that's because Enzo had multiple layers to him and he was such a complex character and that's what I loved. I didn't have to agree with his actions and he was cruel to Gia during many scenes in the book, but I kind of understood why he acted that way.

What do I like about it? It's mafia, one of my favorite tropes. It had action, culture, drama, all mixed in with a forbidden love story. The mafia story itself was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat. The cliffhanger!! AGH!! I also planned to ask Nic for a laptop so I could do my own digging. But I also didn’t want to leave Giulio’s side."That was why the chemistry between her and Enzo was so fiery and intense. It was a mix of hate and lust that eventually developed into love. The only thing I thought was missing was, that one of the characters had a very traumatic childhood, which also impacts his present views of himself, and I wish that we could´ve seen him heal from this trauma, or at least see him talk to someone he trusted.
