One final consideration is the battery life. You don’t want it to run out and stop recording your ride. My granddaughter lives abroad but came over this last Christmas when she was just short of three years old; I just clipped this onto the side of a cup and let it roll and because of its depth of field excellent videos of her from a few feet to the other side of the room were recorded beautifully. The sound activation makes it useful to watch over your house when you are away, it claims, not tested, to run for 250 hours on standby.

The HyperSmooth 2.0 video stabilisation has three modes. It can be adjusted for the activity you’re doing, which means the footage you get is clear, and the wide-angle lens captures more of your ride, too. Plus TimeWarp 2.0 produces great time-lapse videos. Works well in the night. I know people have reviewed this camera saying that it's poor in the night. It's far from a great picture. But compared to other camera in this price range it still does a good job, even if the picture has softer edges etc, that's to be expected as the exposure goes up. I can still get license plates from the footage at night which is more than can be said for the expensive Drift HD camera! (which is poor at night despite night mode and with the wide lens makes plates hard to read unless really close up).To capture more of your ride, this camera has a 170° wide-angle lens. You can also record time-lapse videos and burst photos, giving you lots of choice and fun. This camera captures ultra-high-definition images and video footage. It also features EIS electronic image stabilisation for great quality images. The camera is very small (2.16 in X1.1 in X .8") and light (1.76 oz). I reviewed this shortly after I received it and awarded it five stars, I have had it for about eight months and still think it is absolutely brilliant, bought one for my son, he loves it. The first thing to consider is the size and weight of the camera. Mounting a big, heavy camera on your riding hat is going to be uncomfortable when used over a period of time and is likely to affect your balance, too. Go for a camera that’s lightweight and compact, so you’re less likely to notice it on your riding hat. Bear in mind also the effect its weight might have in the event of you falling off. Durability The field of view is a little narrower than I would like for a dash-cam, and the field of view seems to be columnated a bit below perpendicular. To put that another way, the center of the video is about 10-15 degrees below that at which I am aiming.Rolling shutter: If you've got a lot of vibrations going on where the camera is mounted (i.e. on handle bars or rear) and have fairly hard tires etc, you might notice some "waving" of the footage. The camera is pretty bad for rolling shutter affect although head mounted not a problem at all.
