About this deal

Nishane as a brand is not for the faint of heart in my opinion. On me this lasts easily 8-12 hours with strong projection and I will still feel it the day after I have used it until I shower. And on clothes until you wash them…

An East-meets-West oriental, it makes a grand statement from the start with contrasts of powdery honey and violet, the leathery spice of saffron and gourmand-ish fig. I have been loving this fragrance since 2018. At the time when I received my first bottle as a gift, I had no idea what a fougere was and no preconceptions about perfumery in general. I simply thought it smelled very good, and so I wore it. Just about every day.Projection wise this is a scent that lets people know you are on your way. It’s a bold projector with a huge sillage, especially for being also somewhat of a freshie. And the longevity is great as on most Nishane fragrances I have tried.

Although I was initially disappointed, I've changed my tune. It smells manly and capable; robust and natural. I'm truly impressed by this fragrance, and I'm grateful that there are companies like Nishane willing to make something simple yet high quality. This is going to be perfect in the mild, sunny, and blossoming season of Spring, which I hope is right around the corner. This is another barbershop with lavender and a bit of citrus in the top. The base has wood but I find it dominated by coumarin. In fact, I find the entire composition dominated by heavy coumarin, and that gives it (to my nose) a cheap, designer, mall-scent profile that I can't get past. I view this as Beau du Jour 1.0 - an experiment to make a classic barbershop masculine updated for today's nose. Take the classic profile, jam of a bunch of sweet synth molecule in it, wrap it together, and sell it today's man who came up on Eros and Invictus and the like but is older, has a nicer car, and makes more money. Where BdJ succeeded, TF d'Argent failed, at least somewhat. This isn't a bad scent - it's pleasant enough if you can tolerate that synthetic sweet/vanilla note - but it feels a bit like the first attempt at modernization and they didn't get it right, at least not to me. Even if you haven’t smelled this 2019 release from the No Boundaries Collection, there’s a good chance you’ve heard about it. That’s how popular it is. People go seriously gaga for this stuff. It is a blind buy as 90% of my collection and i was pleasantly surprised given the average grade many reviewers have given this.

My perception of B-612 is more terrestrial than its inspiration. I see it as a very interesting way of bringing a new sensation through the manipulation of a very traditional ingredient such as lavender. And now that the weather is warming up, it's been my addiction for the past two weeks and a very comforting, energizing scent. The core of the fragrance is a combination of lavender with cypress. The lavender is rich and rounded and the cypress is fresh and balsamic, with camphoraceous aspects that come from the synergy of the two materials. It's this synergy that creates a simple magic, a very natural feeling that also seems effortless. B-612 has this freshness that is new, modern and dynamic, while still nodding to classics such as Caron's Pour un Homme, a lavender icon. But while Pour un Homme is more vanillic, B-612 goes deeper into the woody vibe. This is just it, a beautiful feminine perfume that you can wear every day of the year, its super fresh, yet has body and warmth to it, given by the tonka, benzoin and an ever so soft Barely there patchuli.. To sum it up the vibe of Tempfluo it is modern, cool and fun with a clash between the beautiful beach and the dusty urban city while at the same time harbouring the possibility of becoming something timeless. But you have got to be ok with also the somewhat clashing urban notes in the composition. Very high up in my "barbershop" Fougere collection. Very similar to, and right behind in my collection, Penhaligon Sartorial. Fougere D'Argent is closer to Sartorial in scent profile than to its Tom Ford cousin Beau de Jour. Beau de Jour is #1 in my collection, but they are different enough to not be redundant in a collection. D'Argent is closer to a traditional Fougere to me than Beau de Jour, probably with more sweetness than a classical Fougere. Guess they swapped out the traditional Fougere D'Argent is the safest but it's a bit deceptive. It really evolves a lot & while it doesn't strike the wearer as potent, it is. It projects more than you realize & even 8 hours in with a couple sprays on each arm, I'm getting wafts of wood, citrus & lavender, even though it seems like it's down to a skin scent when sniffed directly. Definitely agree with the comment about this being along the lines of a ADP fragrance, in a very good way.DISLIKE RATING: 2/10. The spicy accords are noticeable; some people are likely to find them offensive. Edit: so for longevity it lasted on my skin about 5 hrs before it turned into a skin scent. If not for it being on my clothes, it would have disappeared altogether. It suits most occasions and it has a clean, hint of powdery smell. The plum is front and center, rose extremely smooth and ethereal. Anyway, this cologne starts with tuberose. This floral aroma will blow your mind away. Soon it mixes with peach and mandarin orange and creates a fantastic opening. This is by no means a safe blind buy! You need to be on board with quite a bit of saffron in combination with something I would have interpreted as cardamom and lavender mixed in a way that in no way reminds of the sophisticated blend of these types of notes in for instance BR540 by MFK or Gris Charnel by BDK. In reality there is neither cardamom nor lavender in Tempfluo, but for some reason the combination of I guess praline, orange blossom and cashmere wood and vanilla mixed with the saffron translates that way to my nose.
