Single take mode has been simplified and streamlined. Fewer options and shorter recording times make it faster and easier to get great shots.

Routines that are currently running are now shown at the top of the Routines screen so you can understand what's happening and make changes if necessary.

Device

While viewing a story, a thumbnail view appears when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen. In thumbnail view, you can add or remove pictures and videos from your story. The Weather insights widget provides more information about your local weather conditions. You can see when severe thunderstorms, snow, rain, and other events are on the forecast. You can use the same full-color icons that are used for each app on the Home and Apps screens. You can turn this on in Settings. When selecting an area of the screen, a magnified view will appear so you can start and end your selection at the perfect spot.

Automatically start routines when you use Airplane mode or Mobile Hotspot. Routines can now open app pairs and adjust the left/right sound balance.When grid lines are turned on in Camera settings, a level line will now appear in the middle of the screen while using the rear camera in all modes except Panorama. The line will move to show whether your picture is level with the ground. Choose a mode based on what you're doing, such as exercising, working, or relaxing, then choose what you want your phone to do in each situation. For example, turn on Do not disturb when you're relaxing or play music when you're driving. Stories that are automatically created in your Gallery have been revamped with an interactive slideshow view. Just tap or swipe to move between pictures and videos in your story. Remastering does more to make your pictures look great by removing shadows and reflections. You can also remaster GIFs for better resolution and clarity. Preview has also been improved to make it easier to compare the original picture with the remaster. A brief summary of the current weather conditions now appears on the weather widget to let you know if it's sunny, cloudy, raining, or snowing.
