About this deal

The 440 can be plugged into anything, but if you’re buying these you’ll most likely be using some sort of interface like the Scarlett 2i2 which I highly recommend as a perfect entry-level solution. Who do these headphones benefit?

Extremely uneven tuning, mediocre resolution, not a great choice unless you only want a wide soundstage.

The SHR440 offers a sound that can be immediately beguiling and involving. This is an important achievement, and one that may work well for many listeners. Like every headphone we’ve heard, the SRH440 has its limits, and in the case of the Shures these are obvious. But before we discuss shortcoming, let’s first catalog this headphone’s strengths. Also included is a Shure branded leather style carrying pouch which is a nice addition although it doesn't really provide much in the way of protection to your headphones on the go. Shure SRH-440 HEADPHONES -Looks and Build Quality - (8/10) The overall sound is very good for the purpose of a monitor but if you want something a bit more fun, engaging, or intimate you had best look elsewhere. Shure SRH-440 HEADPHONES -CONCLUSION Seems inspired by the tuning of the SR-009 with some minor improvements, though not enough to call it "good". Very bright in the treble range. Maybe too bright/Sibilant for some. Definitely brighter than a 440.

Ranks will be determined based on the best unit tried. Because of this, I am not accounting for unit variation. I cannot guarantee that what I’m hearing is what you will be hearing. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. The mid-range can sound a bit forward with certain recordings, but I think it mostly knows its place in the mix. Consider this headset if: you want headphones with a clear and clean tonal balance with good rendition of detail—even if that comes at the expense of somewhat light or bright sound. The large, soft earpads and adjustable headband mean you can get hours of extended use while comfortably wearing the SRH440 headphones and their collapsible design means they’re well suited for portability – they even come with a carry pouch for extra protection. This will revert to the most recent unit tried if there is a significant time gap between the last and most recent times I tried a particular model.
