To provide important information of the fine-scale individual behavioural and physiological responses to AHDs, we exposed porpoises that had recently been bycaught, shortly handled and tagged with suction cup archival sound and movement tags. The goal for a tagging study is to achieve and use data that are un- or minimally affected by the tagging to represent the investigated behaviour and physiology as naturally as possible. Time spent in visual crypsis was defined as time spent within 2 m of the surface or apparent seafloor. The nearness to seafloor was used for animals with GPS information (HP1, HP3 and HP5) or that made U-shaped dives, which were likely to represent a depth close to the seafloor (HP4, HP6). We verified the assumption that U-shaped dives are close to the seafloor using the animals with GPS-positions.

Data were collected over a span of four years, from September 2012 to September 2016 where porpoises incidentally caught alive in pound nets upon their release were equipped with a high-resolution sound and movement recording tag with four silicone suction cups (DTAG 46; see www.soundtags.org). The tagging was approved and carried out in accordance to relevant guidelines and regulations by the Danish Welfare Division (Ministry of Justice, 2010-561-1801 and 2015-15-0201-00549) and carried out under the permission from the Danish Forest and Nature Agency (NST-3446-0016). More and more, chefs are becoming interested in the face behind their fish. It is not only educational but tells a story: this fish has come from a boat under 10m in length, was caught by one guy risking his life by going out alone in all weathers. The chefs write his name on the specials board. Elmegaard, S. L., Johnson, M., Madsen, P. T. & McDonald, B. I. Cognitive control of heart rate in diving harbor porpoises. Curr. Founded as an imprint of Freight Design (which was set up by Searle and business partner Davinder Samrai)in 2011 by Searle, operations at publisher Freight Books were thrown into disarray with the abrupt departure of Searle in April due to “irreconcilable differences over strategic direction”. In September, authors and agents called on Freight Books to provide more transparency about its financial status after it emerged its writers hadnot been paid for several months. It was also reportedthat Freight was in talks tosell the books side of the business, following an "unsolicited" request to buy the press.
