About this deal

Versatility is another remarkable feature of the Sentinel – X800. Unlike other cleaners on the market, this product is suitable for both hot and cold central heating systems. Whether you have a residential or commercial property, the Sentinel – X800 is your go-to solution for maintaining optimal system performance. Professional-Grade Quality If a sealed system (combi, or non-combi but with no F&E tank but with an expansion vessel either inside the boiler or external to it) you will need to add the chemical another way. Often a tall towel type radiator will do. Turn off the boiler. Bleed water from a radiator bleed point until the boiler pressure drops to zero. Take the whole bleed plug (not just the square headed bleed screw) out of the top of the radiator, syphon out 1.5 litres of water and replace with the chemical. Replace the plug, top up the system water to normal boiler pressure (say 1.3 bar if you don't know what that is). Run the system as above. You will still have to do a full drain down and repeat a few times as above. If you don't have a suitable towel type radiator you can get the chemicals in various "easy add" versions. I've never found these easy to use.

A filter will help capture debris, in a collection chamber, and hold it there until the chamber can be emptied. Why? Removes potentially damaging contaminants and restores system effectiveness, reducing future breakdowns and increasing system life. Unrivalled chemical technology reduces circulation time to just 1 hour. Not sure what cleaner is best for the job? We’ve created a handy cleaner comparison to help you choose the right cleaner for your system. Why?A build-up of magnetite sludge and corrosion debris can cause cold spots in radiators and uneven heat distribution. Cleaning an old system before8 installing a new component such as a boiler or circulation pump prolongs the effective life of the new component reducing maintenance and replacement costs. I am also planning on cleaning the magnaclean filter, could this also be part of the root cause to my issue?

Product manuals and instructions: filter and scale protection

After cleaning, the system should be drained and flushed until the water runs clear. On refilling, the system should be treated with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor or Sentinel X500 Inhibited Antifreeze. As for new systems, X300 Cleaner for New Systems is designed to target installation and manufacture debris and contaminants. Once cleaned, it will passivate the metal surfaces and prevent copper deposition. If a system has not been cleaned prior to use, all of the aforementioned issues for new systems will be present, with the installation debris causing issues and damage to the system. Ok, I've seen a few posts on this subject but none actually seem to give an answer, (so perhaps there isn't one?)

To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593, this product should be circulated (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow) for a minimum period of 2 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. Use in conjunction with a powerflushing device to achieve a more rapid clean. It is recommended thatX800 Fast Acting Cleaneris used in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems”. It says it includes chemicals to protect the metalwork in the system, but I don't know if this is as 'good' as the ones in the inhibitor, or if I should be aiming to get the X800 out sooner rather than later, flush, and refill with inhibitor?A good cleaner is Sentinel X400, or X800 which is somewhat more aggressive. X400 can be left in the system, but will cease to loosen sludge after about 4 weeks. X800 should be circulated and the system drained and refilled several times to remove it. Fernox and Kamco are reputable makers of similar products. Customers who have used the Sentinel – X800 are thrilled with the results. Many have praised its fast-acting formula, highlighting the noticeable improvement in system efficiency after using the product. Others appreciate its versatility, as it can be used in both hot and cold systems. Overall, customers highly recommend the Sentinel – X800 for anyone looking to maintain the peak performance of their central heating systems. Overall Value The Sentinel – X800 is a must-have for anyone with a central heating system. Whether you are a homeowner, a property manager, or a business owner, this product will revolutionize the way you maintain your heating system. By ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of your central heating system, the Sentinel – X800 provides comfort and peace of mind to everyone who relies on it for warmth. Pros and Cons X300 Cleaner for New Systems is designed to target excess flux residues, greases, and oils in addition to installation debris and sludge. Not only this, but X300 passivates the metal surfaces and helps to prevent copper deposition, a common cause of pinhole corrosion in radiators. Ideally, the product should be added at the first filling of the system. The water should then be circulated at normal operating temperatures for 2 hours before being flushed out. If you are using cold water, leave to circulate for 24 hours. Powerflushing is not necessary when using this product. The system I’m dealing with is not new, but is less than 6 months old X800 Fast Acting Cleanershould be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 3 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored.

A constant flow of water kept on coming out of the radiator that is the closet to the drain valve which confuses me as no more water is coming out of the external and only drain valve

The solution

Recommended dosage: Ideal for pre-dosing, 1 litre of X400 is sufficient to treat a typical domestic system of up to 10 radiators. Circulate from 2 hours to 3 or 4 weeks depending on system fouling. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner should be used as a 1% solution in mains water to remove typical levels of deposits of iron oxide and calcium carbonate. Where systems are badly fouled, a higher concentration (up to 10%) is recommended.
