Some versions of Microsoft 365 such as Office Professional Plus 2021, Office Standard 2021, or a stand-alone app such as Word 2021 or Project 2021 don't have an associated Microsoft account, or work or school account. Head to Microsoft 365 Business Premium and you don’t get Simplified Sign-Up, but at this level your firm should have its own domain and the knowledge to manage it properly. There’s one more key difference. With Business Standard, firms can choose how much control Microsoft has over your data. There’s a more in-depth option that’s ideal for any company that already has its own domain, but you’ll need more tech know-how to get going. Standalone services The Simplified Sign Up terms of use have been recently updated, and notably they clarify licensing and data ownership for multi-user business subscriptions. For continued service of your business subscription, you may either visit the Microsoft 365 admin Center and stay using Simplified Sign Up (and agree to use the Microsoft Services Agreement Supplemental), or visit the Microsoft 365 admin Center and add a business domain (and use the Microsoft Online Services Agreement).
