It was watching the very first Sewing Bee series that inspired Tony to take up sewing.He taught himself using vintage ‘easy sew’ patterns before moving on to more complex stitches.He mainly sews colourful shirts and tailored waistcoats for himself.He’s even made himself a three-piece suit!

She lives with her husband and has a unique style, which has included making Edwardian-influenced outfits and repurposing dressesinto underwear. After changing career three years ago, long-time knitter Tony pulled out his wife’s old sewing machine to create a bag for all his needles and wool. He has since made himself cycling gear and has developed his own wardrobe influenced by 90’s skater fashion. Mitch taught himself to sew by reading books and studying online videos. Mitch loves loud and lairy fabric and was in an ABBA tribute band. Episode 2 –In the second week contestants were tasked with sewing a Summer wardrobe. The challenges included making a pair of paper bag shorts, refashioning men’s swimming gear and making a made-to-measure sun dress for a model. The sewing bee theme for week five is lingerie and sleepwear. Yes! Series 9 of the Great British Sewing Bee will start in May 2023. This will be the ninth series of the sewing BBC TV show and we are so excited to see what contestants and sewing challenges will be. Watch this space as we share special vlogs each week after the TV programme as sewers take on garment challenges to crowned the best home sewer in Britain. We have been eagerly awaiting series 9 since the sewing bee was last broadcast over Christmas in 2022. We will be sharing all the news about the new contestants of The Great British Sewing Bee and each week a run down of the episodes with sewing patterns featured. What time and date is the Great British Sewing Bee on TV? Yes indeed! It's a wonderful book of patterns and techniques, created by Season 5 winner, Juliet Uzor. Juliet is a regular columnist for Love Sewing magazine and has even graced our cover! Gill started sewing when her husband bought her a machine three years ago. She makes clothes for herself, family and greyhound Maureen. She works as an analyst and feels that her love for numbers helps her with sewing.
