About this deal

Overall, I like the semi-weighted keys of the A49. I think it feels just like the S49 and I am a big fan of the key-bed on that product. One feature I wish this keyboard had is aftertouch. I am surprised by this as we are seeing more and more keyboards having this feature. The screen is tiny, but I actually kind of like it. It’s located at the top left of the keyboard and it is an LCD display. Now, it’s nothing close to the “S” series here, but I feel like this was a great spot to cut costs for Native Instruments. The software collection gives you everything you need to get started straight out of the box. It spans everything from pianos to synthesizers and even custom amp and cabinet emulations for guitars. Compact and streamlined design Logic will display the Control Surface Setup window. You can see that it has identified the Kontrol Keyboard.

Go to the MIDI Remote Scripts folder in Live's installation directory. By default, it is located here: If you’re experiencing issues with Host Integration on an Apple Silicon-based Mac, please follow the steps in this article.

Pro-grade Fatar keybed with polyphonic aftertouch, available with semi-weighted keys (S49, S61), or fully weighted hammer-action keys (S88) Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty Providing full VSTi and VST FX support, you can use the keyboard with virtually any sound or VST. It is also deeply integrated with Maschine software, allowing you to control various parameters with ease.

Are you looking for some great VST’s? Here are some awesome organ VSTs that you might enjoy! Overall My thoughts overall, are that Native Instruments put out a solid keyboard with the Kontrol A49. The real question here, is how well does this compare to the other controllers on the market that are similar in the price? I think it is right there with the best of them personally. I still think there are a few that are better though as you go up in price from here. Smart Play: Stay in key with over 100 scales and modes, play chord progressions and arpeggios with single keys, or map any scale to white keys only

Major functionality at minimal cost? Let’s have a look…

The other main difference between the S- and A-Series is weight. The S-Series is reassuringly heavy, well built and sturdy. The A49 on test was a ’carry up the stairs under one arm’ job when I took it in my studio which, probably because I’m always lugging gear around, I see as a good thing. Okay, it’s not as sturdy as the S, but I can’t see anything too flimsy about it, either. It’s not going to fall apart any time soon. In this section, you will learn how to copy the KOMPLETE KONTROL MIDI Remote Script to Live's MIDI Remote Scripts directory. This will allow Live to recognize KOMPLETE KONTROL as a control surface. In addition to the mod and pitch wheels, the Komplete Kontrol A49 features 8 touch-sensitive controls knobs. These knobs can be highly useful when used with various VSTs ( Virtual Instrument Plugins) and DAWs ( Digital Audio Workstation). They can be used to control various parameters including volume, automation and other dedicated controls within your software. Expand the entries Sound, video, and game controllers and Universal Serial Bus devices. If an exclamation mark appears next to your device entry (see picture), install the driver manually as explained below: Pre-mapped control of KOMPLETE Instruments and Effects plus hundreds of Native Kontrol Standard (NKS) plug-ins from leading manufacturers via the KOMPLETE KONTROL software

Intuitive control over Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, and GarageBand at launch. Cubase and Nuendo integration coming soon after initial release Plugin Alliance comes to KOMPLETE 14, bringing all-new effects including Unfiltered Audio’s LO-FI-AF, and Brainworx’s bx_crispytuner. PLAY SERIES ADDITIONS

Features

Make sure that you are connecting the hardware device to a USB 2.0 port. Although it is common to operate an NI hardware device via a USB 3.0 port as they are found in new generation computers, some systems may pose some connectivity issues with USB 3.0 ports. USB 1.0 is not supported. Controlling your NKS software is where the keyboard really comes into its own, though, and this is simply a matter of loading in an instance of the KK software and navigating via the hardware to a sound or effect that you want. You’ll have to load the KK software standalone first though, so it builds up a database of your compatible software and then it will run in your DAW.
