About this deal

If my research yielded the truth, rather than the usual audio marketing BS (the consumer audio market is full of BS), the "Tonar" brand is a re-branding of Jico's n44g aftermarket stylus. NinjaGaijin: go here https://www.kabusa.com/frameset.htm?/m1200.htm, Under Headshells, look for HS Washers. In return, please consider naming your firstborn after me.

Together with an old-fashioned Idler drive - very dynamic, lively sound with substance and stable imaging. Correlates to mounting in a DUAL 1019 drive. If those models are no longer produced, or erroneously marketed, then I will be one step closer to JICO N44-G DJ improved.

Finally what I like least is the look (not really important) is the sound you are looking (well I think). After a good setting it adheres to all that passes below: vinyl, pancakes, rugs ... and it does not take off with hair!

My understanding is that the original line up was M44E, M44-5, M44-7 and M44C. They appeared about the time of the first V15 as they share the same body in different housings. The N44-1 and N44-3 styli added mono and 78rpm to these models. The M55E appeared when the original V15 was replaced by the V15II, as to all intents purposes they are the same and the M44-5 was superceded by the M44G. Shure is privately held and has the ability to do things other companies can’t or won’t do. They have a complete archive with at least one of every product they have ever made since 1932. The Shure V15 marks I and II are not really worth considering for your turntable, unless interested from a collector’s point of view. Their sound was unrefined compared to the later series. Better sound could be achieved by a new M97xE for less. As for distortion issues, are you using the RECORD output of your mixer, or BOOTH/MIX/MASTER output? Does your sound card have option to choose either 'instrument/consumer line' or '+4db line' or 'mic' level? Make sure it is either +4db line (for master output of mixer) or 'instrument/consumer line (-10dB line)' for record output. A: That would have been in 1932, a carbon microphone. In 1928 the name was changed to Shure Brothers when his brother joined him. In 1929, Shure started distributing microphones from Universal and Ellis Electrical Labs but decided in 1932 he could build his own.

being stiffer, and jumping more, you need more weight, and and test scratching with them heavier, they seem to burn/wear the record noticeably faster It should be also stressed that the late -90 points + all silent cell 250 francs sold in stores like the speech therapy and other allgrement + Stanton sold twice. If these exist, https://www.turntablelab.com/products/jico-n-44g-improved-replacement-stylus-for-shure-m44g-192-44g-imp ; https://lptunes.com/products/jico-replacement-shure-n-44g-improved-stylus , I might be interested in getting one, as it seems to be the closest match to Shure's M44G. i have just found a boxed spare N44-7. I have replaced them with ortofons now so don't need it any more if anyone is interested let me know. I think I would skip the more expensive Shures like the M97 or M91 and buy one of these. They are typically half the price or at least far less. Throw a new eliptical needle in yours and enjoy the music!

Also I'm really sorry to hear you had skipping and issues with volume and EQ.. I think that this shouldn't be an issue if you turn your speakers down - ideally they shouldn't be aimed at the styli, and also you might want to consider taking the turntables out of the coffins and try to isolate them a bit. But agreed, we didn't have these troubles with N44G/N447 Shure... it's sad that no one can do what Shure did apparently. I agree that the three styli give very similar results. For my taste the G sounds slightly more refined (maybe more restrained) than the others. I know that frequency response is not the only factor to consider, but I thought it would be interesting to compare the three files for frequency, analyzing the whole file in each case.

On The Go

DJs can easily identify which stylus type best suits their individual DJ style and enables their absolute best performance capability. LP Gear sells 2 for that price, or just one? How come they still have SHUREs, last of the last kind of thing, or? R is on the left, L is on the right, color o-rings can be removed and swaped, letter markings are divided horizontally, but audio is divided vertically, instead of color code each pin G=green, B=Blue, W=White, R=Red, has R, L, RG, LG. And what's with the cantilever? Did anyone adjust when replacing Shure M44g with Jico, either generic, or club? Thanks,
