SURE-FOOTED This lining means that the shoes are both waterproof and breathable. It stops water from getting in on damp days, and letting air in to keep feet refreshed. In fact, some are incredibly impressed with the quality of this lining and say that hardly any water gets in at all. The full-grain leather looks tough, there is a good tread on the rubber outsole for a grip on difficult surfaces and there is the use of Gore-tex technology to protect the feet.

We would 100% recommend the Berghaus Hillwalker II hiking boots; they are so comfortable they give on an extended hike. They are simply the most comfortable boots we have ever worn. The Hillwalker II also do a grand job at keeping your feet warm which helps tremendously on an icy morning hike. Whilst not the lightest of boots available, they are very durable, and if you look after them, they’ll likely last the test of time for many years. Modern hiking boots can not always claim durability, so this more traditional time will provide excellent value for money. Another Berghaus option would be the Berghaus Expeditor Ridge 2.0– which is about 200grams lighter but still a traditional-looking boot. Breathable Hiking Boots– Thanks to a breathable GORE-TEX performance membrane, even the wettest weather won’t touch your feet, while sweat makes a clean escape. Please remember that if water gets through the top of the boot, say around the ankle area, your feet will still get wet. That does not mean the boots are not waterproof. I would suggest buying a pair of gaiters to protect your feet from the elements further; this will stop small stones, twigs and other trail debris from getting inside.Most reviewers commended the comfortable nature, however, they do run a bit large so keep this in mind when purchasing. In addition to this, there is further support in shape of the shoe, the strong lace-up closure and the torsional support shank.
