A rare and vital part of the town. They forge the weapons of silver to defend themselves against the vampires. But Ruvan doesn't want to take her life... he wants her. I really didn’t vibe with the romance between Floriane and Ruvan - I did at first, but I just wasn’t feeling it whatsoever throughout. I didn’t really care for it and I wished Kova had developed Ruvan a little more so I would’ve cared more.

Kidnapped and brought to the vampire castle, Floriane is now blood sworn to the vampire lord. She is bound in mind and body to her worst enemy. But Ruvan isn’t the fiend she thought he was. She learns the truth of the vampires: They are not mindless monsters, but a proud people, twisted and tortured by an ancient curse. The actual ‘truth’ behind the curse was just so interesting! I was glued to the story because I wanted to find out what happened to cause the curse. Floriane’s dreams into the past were intriguing - and it was even better when she acted upon what she had seen. They were some of the best scenes in the whole book - unfortunately they only seemed to happen till 70%. Whenever she researched the ancient texts or looked for answers, it was always just told to us instead of us being there with her. It was really anti-climatic when ‘answers’ just like appeared out of nowhere . I wanted to be there with her as she uncovered truths that had been hidden for thousands of years. I know these Married to Magic books are only mildly interconnected, but a part of me kind of wants everything to meet up and culminate in something at the end. Like, every offhand mention of the Fae or the Elves has me keyed up. But more than that, you just end up falling in love with the characters and you want more. I definitely want more after this book. So I need them to all meet up so I can see familiar faces again. Whereas Romeo and Juliet cared nothing about their external circumstances except the desire to be together at all costs, Floriane and Ruvan’s journey is not so simple. The book is told from Floriane’s perspective, and she is a really compelling character. Her life has been limited by her role in society, and she wants more from it than just to be a tool of humanity. The forge maiden is always set apart and her marriage decided for her, but she dreams of choosing her own match and falling in love. On this journey, she begins to find herself, her wants, and embrace herself as she is, outside of Hunter’s Hamlet. I appreciated her coming-of-age style arc. Ruvan is also a really interesting character, and his understanding and passion really endears him to the reader, though it takes longer for he and Floriane to get their act together. His covenant were also characters that really grow on the reader, and I loved getting to know them.En sus páginas, se da forma a un universo imaginativo perfecto para desconectar, dejarse enamorar y disfrutar de una lectura sin igual, con una maldición con eje central y un enemies to lovers realmente cautivador. Es una novela que se construye alrededor de un contexto literario único, capaz de aglutinar todos aquellos elementos de escritura más tradiciones y evocadores, con personajes clásicos, pero también reconstruidos bajo un prisma llamado a ser diferente. En cuanto a esta entrega, debo admitir que la portada no me entusiasmaba para nada, incluso me daba la risa verla porque cambia bastante en comparación con las dos primeras. Además, el interés amoroso me parecía un vampiro octogenario, no sé, me lo esperaba de otra manera. Lo siento, igual se debe a que he leído demasiados libros de vampiros tipo crepúsculo y me lo esperaba más “jóven” físicamente. Sin embargo, una vez empecé a leerlo, la historia me atrapó en las primeras páginas. Eventually, or sometimes right away, the heroine and her counterpart get married.

Now blood sworn to the vampire lord, she is bound in mind and body to herThis book has a very strong start with an intriguing main character, a medievalesque vibe, and scary monstrous vampires, but sadly the length of it made the plot lose some quality and impact. Also, don’t expect anything new in this book. While it was interesting, and the plot was better than in the previous book, the basics remain the same: a human girl taken to Midscape by a handsome magical male that she ends up falling in love with, and he ends up falling in love with her too, even though it goes against their norms and what is “usually done” in their society.
