About this deal

Isaiah heads into the basement alone and finds a camera. Suddenly the basement door shuts and startles everyone. Isaiah jumps out and takes a picture of Allison and another of Margot. Just then the lights come on, but strangely Isaiah hasn’t found the fuse box. Pitts Landing is in fact, the Pitts, or so claim the group of four (4) young friends who find themselves roaming the streets of their town one summer’s day without any idea of what to do with their free time. After listing off what appears to be a diverse list of ideas, most of which cost money that they do not have, the quartet decides to investigate the Coffman House. This abandoned building sits on the outskirts of the playground, surrounded by overgrown vegetation & is drenched in looming lore; Who lived there? What happened to them? Is someone living in the house now? A picture is worth a thousand screams--if it's taken with an evil camera that has a nasty vision of the future. Julie's future doesn't look pretty. And neither does anyone else's after they're caught in her lens! Focusing on the mysterious figure, she doesn’t notice that her choice of candy from the machine is supernaturally changed, as a different bar falls out of the machine. Not looking at what she got, Margot takes a bite, and immediately begins to have an allergic reaction to the candy she didn’t realize she was eating.

Aspiring photographer Alex goes in search of werewolves in his aunt and uncle's small town and discovers that these werewolves are closer to him than they think. Trina O'Dell's father Mr. O'Dell used to be a famous ventriloquist, but now he only collects and refurnishes old ventriloquist dolls in his spare time. He finds Slappy in the trash and adds him to his collection. After reading the words that come with Slappy, not only does the evil dummy comes to life, but so does his entire collection. I feel the biggining episode is an interesting start to the new siries, the teen drama is very accurate to the modern day. But I think there's too much at play here, and really should of been less. And more of the story. There's also too much stuff that happens, so there is really no time to settle down and have an introduction to are characters. Which is the episodes BIGGEST downfall, as the plot is convoluted due to many things taking place in this episode, a 2 parter might of worked better. But the episode isn't all bad. Isaiah notices the two photographs taken from the camera in which Margot is in distress. Later in the hallway, Margot sees a strange boy standing. She begins to choke while the students walk out of the classrooms. Isaiah rushes in and gives Margot a shot from her bag.The kids take center stage in this episode, though, given the hints of information we get at the end, the adults seem like they’re going to become bigger characters as the story continues. The show is trying to do a lot here. Disney Branded Television and Sony Pictures Television produce Goosebumps. Nicholas Stoller ( The Muppets, Neighbors) and Rob Letterman, who directed the first Goosebumps movie, developed the show and executive produce with Hilary Winston, Neal H. Moritz, Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Erin O’Malley and Kevin Murphy.

In the last scene of the episode, viewers can see the names of students on Mr. Saur's roster. With the exception of Greg and Shari, all of the names belong to people who worked on the Goosebumps television series: The series also stars Justin Long —who becomes possessed by a dark entity around the 40-second mark of the trailer —and Rachael Harris. Goosebumps will stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting, appropriately enough, on Friday, Oct. 13, with five episodes. The first two will also air on Disney’s cable channel Freeform as part of its 31 Days of Halloween programming.Greg and Shari try to escape. During the struggle, Shari takes the camera from Spidey and takes Spidey's photo with it. Spidey dies of fright, an event that the photograph seems to depict. Finally, Greg and Shari return the camera to its hiding place and leave the building. They tell the Pitts Landing police that they found Spidey's corpse in the house. I have no qualms in stating that because this book presented such a duality with its antagonist & with the garish item of the camera that it left me feeling glad to see such pointed writing play out for all ages. I am a firm believer that a good book is, a good book & that all readers deserve to come upon stories that are well-thought-out & well-written. Stine is a wonder at his craft. Though there were times when some of the actions of the younger characters were quite annoying—Shari essentially bullying Greg into bringing the haunted camera—I could understand that this was the essence of the 90s writing style. Como todos los de esta colección, los estoy leyendo con la mayor (la peque se suele quedar frita 😂) y los estamos disfrutando muchísimo. Greg only snaps four pictures with the camera in the TV episode (if you count his dream). The first time occurs when he snaps Douglas' picture leading to his friend's fall off the stairs, the second when he snaps a picture of his dad's new car, the third in his dream (of his family at a barbecue, with their image coming out as skeletons), and the fourth when he snaps Shari's picture, leading to her disappearance.

Jerry Hawkins and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins have just moved into a new house where Jerry finds an old piano in the attic. Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins decide to put the piano to good use by making Jerry take lessons, but Jerry discovers a disturbing truth about the piano and the insane piano teacher who just loves Jerry's hands.

In the book, Greg needs to get a passing grade so he can be allowed to visit his cousins. In the episode, he wants to go to summer camp. Billy Harlan is staying at Camp Nightmoon turns to horror when word of the monster Sabre lurking in the woods crops up, followed by a series of events leaving campers injured and missing. They are definitely not books that are truly enjoyable at any age. I think they remain firmly within their audience of 8-12-year-olds. Something about these books is absolutely entrancing. I still remember thinking 12 was the best age ever, because that's when you get to have all these cool adventures. Against Shari's advice, Greg brings the camera to school and again insists to Mr. Saur to give him a passing mark for his assignment, offering to demonstrate the camera's powers. Mr. Saur takes the camera and insists on taking a picture of Greg with his entire class. He then snaps photo. He asks Greg what is going to happen and Greg says they'll see.
