When they encounter villains opposed to their personal or organizational goals, the three are usually more than willing to sabotage the evil team, even to the point of assisting Ash and his allies when they finally recognize the threat. Throughout these episodes, they are seen trying to steal others' Pokémon, including Pikachu and Pokémon that are able to Mega evolve. However, they are blasted off by Ash and his group or other Trainer's Pokémon . They also fight against the evil Malamar group on several occasions. Jessie and James disguised Meowth as a Volbeat to snatch Juliet's Illumise. They later performed their motto as an Illumise and Volbeat, respectively. Like the actual Pokémon species, the costumes' tails light up. In Mimikyu Unmasked!, Jessie can be a shopaholic and spent all of her team's money at a shopping mall. She also has a talent for sewing and used her skill to fix Mimikyu's costume.
In DP 171 Jessie lost in the contest. Princess Salvia, disguised as Dawn, gave her the ribbon for the performance she gave during their battle in the Final round. Jessie has magenta long hair that she wears curled in a comet-tail behind her head. She typically wears a pair of large green orb earrings that have become a staple signature part of her look and is never seen without them, even in disguise. Yellow, Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, Masters EX, Pokémon GO, Mezastar, Puzzle League, Zany Cards In Mean with Envy and Pacifidlog Jam, Jessie competed in the Pacifidlog Town Contest as "The Jester", using this disguise paired with dark sunglasses. In A Festival Trade! A Festival Farewell?, Jessie mentions that Pumpkaboo was the only one who remembered her birthday, which happened some time after she caught her.The trio disguised themselves as the "C-Button League". Aside from shirts with the letter "C", they wore sunglasses with the letter "C" making up the frames. Jessie forms a sync pair with Arbok in Pokémon Masters EX. Jessie became a playable sync pair on July 9, 2020. Jessie returned once again in Pokémon the Series: XY, following Ash to the Kalos region. In Kalos, Jessie became a Pokémon Performer, competing under the aliases Jessilee and Jessilia (Japanese: ムサヴィ Musavie). The trio started another sham business, a Phione-watching tour. While Jessie and James posed as salespeople, Meowth wore a Phione costume. To the trio's surprise, however, several Phione actually appeared during the tour.
Starting in Hoenn, Jessie became a Pokémon Coordinator, entering every Contest that she could. She frequently made it to the battle round, but usually lost there. Although Jessie entered mostly every Contest in Hoenn and Kanto, she lost in all of them, whether it was the first match of the Battle Rounds or the finals. Jessie and James reused their casual outfits while competing in the Pastoria Croagunk Festival in Cream of the Croagunk Crop!. Both Misty and Jessie were voiced by Rachael Lillis in the 4Kids dub, then they switched to Michele Knotz when TPCi took over. Jessie and James disguised themselves as doctors, wearing full white suits with gloves, mouth covers, glasses and white skullcaps with red lines and a Red Cross on the front. She along with her teammates and her Wobbuffet worked as Malva's assistants during the Lumiose Conference from A League of His Own! to Down to the Fiery Finish!, with the aim of earning money and capturing any strong Pokémon in the Kalos League. However, they were not very pleased with their jobs and felt that they were over-working; despite this, they did not quit their jobs. In Kalos League Passion with a Certain Flare!, they made it a point to steal the two finalists, Ash and Alain's, Pokémon after the battle, but could not execute their plan due to Team Flare wreaking havoc in Lumiose City. When Malva decided to abandon the broadcasting and confront Lysandre in A Towering Takeover!, Jessie, as Jessimurrow, took to narrating the calamity herself, until the broadcast was interrupted by Team Flare. In Coming Apart at the Dreams!, she, in disguise of a news reporter, set out with her teammates, Serena, Mairin, and Professor Sycamore towards Lysandre Labs in an attempt to take over the base and bring Team Flare down.

Jessie is the only female main character to appear in all generations of the anime. Other characters Misty only appeared as a main character in at most 3 generations. Additionally, she has appeared along with James and Meowth in all twenty movies. Like many female characters in the manga, Jessie is depicted with an oversized bust, though this is edited down for VIZ Media's English translation. In the Sun and Moon series, Jessie along with James and Meowth continued their mission of stealing Pokémon and of course robbing Ash's Pikachu, though mostly ending in failure. She also caught a Mimikyu with James' Luxury Ball. Jessie and James used these outfits again in Heroes - Friends and Faux Alike! by posing as scientists who convinced Clemont to upgrade a machine for them.
