While the Classic Face Cream is infused with Vitamin E to hydrate skin as it gradually tans, the Tinted Face Moisturiser adds an instant touch of color, while developing into a deeper tan over 4 to 8 hours. You don’t want your hands to be darker than the rest of your body – it’s a major tanning faux pas! Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly to avoid staining or over tanning them. Our Self Tan Purity Bronzing Waters, Instant Tan or Gradual Tan products do not need to be washed off, excluding our Shower collection. For Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion we recommend rinsing off after 3 minutes and for Gradual Tan One Minute Pre-Shower Tanning Mousse just 1 minute

How to apply gradual tan

A beautiful, bronzed face starts with the right face tanner. Consider your skin type and desired depth of tan: For an ultra-even, streak-free fake tan, always ensure you’re working with a clean canvas. Remove any old tan build up with our Remover Mitt and Tan Remover Mousse. Always exfoliate and remove any unwanted body hair 24 hours before tanning to ensure pores are closed. Make sure your skin is free from any moisturiser, perfume, deodorant and essential oils just before your tan application. A subtle sun kissed glow that you can build daily to achieve your desired depth of tan, with no need to wash off

SKIN SENSITIVITY As everyone’s skin tone and type is individual to them, we highly recommend carrying out a patch test 24hrs prior to applying any tanning product for the first time. HOW DO YOU CARRY OUT A PATCH/SKIN TEST?

We took the decision several years ago to stop using solid plastic particles in our new product development across our entire wash off portfolio, and started the process of substituting this ingredient with natural alternatives. We completed the reformulation of those products which did contain plastic micro particles at the end of 2015 and despite it often being a lengthy process to properly validate safe and effective alternatives that do not compromise the performance of the product, we are proud to have successfully achieved this. St.Tropez can help to minimise the appearance of Vitiligo. We recommend you apply a St.Tropez Self Tan product to the lighter areas with a cotton bud and allow to dry. Leave for at least 8 hours and then wash away the guide colour. If the tan is not dark enough repeat the process. Alternatively St.Tropez Instant Tan can be applied to the area as a temporary cover-up measure. Leave for at least 8 hours and then wash away the guide colour, then apply your all-over tan as normal. If the tan is not dark enough, repeat approximately every 8 hours until satisfied.
