About this deal

Lennox and Maddox are the North Twins and end up in a love triangle with Rae. To be honest, I thought the whole time I found out who she was going to be with, and then I was wrong. This book literally kept me guessing until the very end. She ends up having a brother and the one she doesn’t choose gets a book of her own next. Oh Selena, that epilogue!!!!! Eeeekkkkk. I can’t wait for the next book! I mean, part of me wanted Rae to do the right thing and stay away from Lennox and Maddox because her family/twin bond isn’t worth destroying. Part of me was Team Maddox, although I wanted Lennox to have his own version of happy.

When I’m promised a dark romance I expect a dark romance. Not just talking about how the MC is a bad ass without any evidence. I wanna feel it and taste it on the tip of my tongue. Otherwise nobody believes it!Selena writes such multi-faceted characters and knows how to develop them so well that as the story progresses, what initially seems to be an irredeemable character becomes someone you can easily fall in love with. Mysterious. Dark. Deadly. They say crows are bad omens, but until I met them, a single crow was my only friend. Maddox, the mysterious six-foot-tall tattooed muscle wall who looks at me like I’m the enemy but protects me like I’m a treasure.

This book has a lot of trigger warnings for a reason and even though I don't shy away from such triggers, in this book though, it felt like it was forced in a way and didn't come naturally with the story line. Maddox is the type to not candy coat anything. He is broody, hurtful yet protective. This young man knows the truth about the type of person his twin really is and he will go to great lengths to get his Queen. As someone who didn't read the first book about Madox and Rae's story i felt really bad about Scarlet. Basically Madox dumps in the beginning of the book. Scarlet is 19years old and wants to someday be an actress. She got all the looks to achieve this dream. She is confident and incredibility funny. At the same time she keeps it very real and I really enjoyed her bubbly side in comparison to Lennoxs grumpy side. But just like everyone Scarlot has got a dark fantasy that she never got to act out until she finds Lennox. My heart breaks for her in what happens in this book. I seriously cried in one part so be aware! But I love her character development in the end.

In “Only Happy When It Rains,” Lennox, Maddox’s twin brother from the “Rain King,” and Scarlett, Maddox’s girlfriend, find themselves together. All Scarlett wants to do is be an actress, but she goes in an entirely different direction with Lennox, who leads the way—a way to darkness, danger, and betrayal. It felt like the ending was just rushed to have it finished and things where thrown in to make it really dark . There really should've been a proper conversation after what Maddox did but there wasn't, the things he done didn't add up to how he was throughout the whole book and I really wish the author hadn't have put it in, especially without any sort of redemption or guilt. They’re twin brothers, each one more dangerous than the other, each more irresistible. Loyal only to their crew, the Murder of Crows, they refuse to let an outsider like me get too close.

Scarlet always thought she was in love with Lennox’s brother Maddox. But we all know from book one that Maddox married Rae. Scarlet was nothing but someone that warmed his sheets and Lennox always thought that he was in love with Rae. Maddox, the mysterious, tattooed, six-foot-four wall of muscle who glares at me like I’m the enemy, but protects me like I'm a treasure. I mean the entire ending was laughable. Neither of them had any redeeming qualities and quite frankly she was sooo dumb she deserved him.
